As soon as the line drops I get up and put on a shirt and slip on my shoes. Lydia is in trouble, breathe, you need to make sure she's okay. Grabbing my keys abruptly, then dropping them I sigh. This wont get me anywhere if I don't calm down. I quickly go downstairs and grab a glass of water before texting my dad telling him I'm going to Lydia's house. After gulping an entire glass of cold water, I run outside to my jeep, then remembering I forgot to lock the door.
"Shit." I slam my fists in the air and run back to quickly lock the front door. Once I get in my jeep I turn the keys and head on my way. "Listen, Stiles, I'm sure she's okay. She'll be okay. Lydia is strong she can take care of herself."
Stiles always finds himself doing this when he's troubled, ever since the nogitsune left. He figures it's to remind himself that this is real, not a dream. When he hears his own voice it comes out broken and he notices he's crying. When he reaches her driveway he notices her car isn't in the driveway and slams his fists onto the steering wheel.
He get's out regardless and bangs on the door to make sure she's not home. One, two, three times. Nothing. He does the first thing he can think of and calls his bestfriend.
"Scott?" Stiles' voice breaks and he coughs to try and regain it.
"Stiles? Is everything okay?" Scott is sitting on his bed listening to Blink 182 when he get's a call from a very panicked Stiles. He immediately sits up, ready to listen to what happened.
"Listen, Scott, Lydia is missing. S-She called me and said she had a really bad dream. She couldn't really go into details, but it really shook her up. She then said someone was watching her and the line went dead. I-I don't know what to do.." Stiles is pretty much fully in tears now, stumbling over ever other word.
"Stiles, hey it'll be okay. We'll figure it out, we always do." Scott hears his best friend take a deep breathe, trying to calm down. He knows it's not the best idea for the other boy to drive, considering he's in a bad state right now. "Where are you? I'll meet you there."
"I-I'm at her house. Just, hurry please." And then the line goes silent. Stiles decides to sit on her front porch in case if anything happens, or anyone comes from the inside. A small amount of time passes when he see's Scott running up to him, a little out of breath. He does sorta live like all the way across town but Stiles expected him to ride his motorbike.
"Hey," Scott chokes out an out of breath greeting to him. "So what's the plan?"
"I don't know exactly," He get's up so he can stand in front of Scott. "I was thinking maybe you could catch her scent since you know it." Scott shrugs at the suggestion and looks around.
"The bright side is I haven't heard her scream." It comes out more of a mumble but Stiles still scoffs at the statement.
"Wow, thanks Scotty. Atleast I always know I can count on you for being very optimistic, damn what would I do without you?" He's slightly slouched over and is using his hands to express every sentence. He usually does this when he's worried, or just feeling extremely sassy. Stiles rolls his eyes at his bestfriend who has a confused look on his face. "What?"
"I think she's here." Scott slowly turns to the big house they are standing in the front lawn of. He swears he smells the scent of the girl who always smells a bit too much like fresh rain and lilac flowers. "But it might just be her perfume. This is kinda her house, you know."
They end up walking down the street a bit and looking around. Nothing, not even a sign that somebody lives on this street. All the lights are off in every single house. Which it's pretty late, but still somebody should be up. They end up stopping and looking at eachother both completely lost.
"Well dude, do your thing, howl or something." Stiles is using his only defense mechanism; sarcasm. But when Scott turns to look to him his eyes are teary and his voice breaks in pretty much every sentence he speaks. "Listen, just find her. Please Scott, just find Lydia."
Scott decides to do as his best friend said, howl. Lydia is part of the pack, so she should answer to it. So he does and Stiles automatically covers his ears to guard them from the excruciating sound of a werewolf howl. It's probably the loudest noises he's ever heard, aside from banshee screams of course. After Scott finishes the howl, they look around once more and then they hear the noise of a window opening.
"What the hell are you guys doing?!?" A frantic strawberry blonde opens her window from her bedroom, looking down at the boys like they are insane. Both of them are completely empty of all words, she notices the extremely confused looks on their faces. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"
It takes them awhile to answer after staring at eachother for atleast 8 minutes. Lydia huffs from above and repositions herself from the window. "So are you gonna tell me what the hell you're doing here, guys?"
"Lydia we could ask you the same thing." Stiles announces and Lydia looks at him like he's absolutely insane. Stiles picks up on this and sighs. "This isn't your house, Lyds. Hell this isn't even your neighborhood."
She looks around and her eyes widen, what the hell is she doing here.
