"Hey, wake up! Wake up!" "Huh?" A teenage girl with (H/c) hair and (E/c) eyes opened her eyes and looked around. She looked beside her to see her younger sister, Frisk. "Frisk?" She rubbed her eyes. "Where are we?" She asked. Frisk looked around the small area they were in. "I don't know." She replied. The older sister huffed, then looked up. "Did... did we fall?" She asked, her eyes widening when she noticed how far down they were. She didn't remember falling.
The last thing she remembered was playing with her sister on the mountain. Frisk shrugged, and the other girl sighed. "Well, it seems there's only one way to get out. So, let's go." Frisk nodded, and took her sister's hand, and the two entered a dark room with a light shining on a single patch of grass. The older girl raised an eyebrow. Suddenly to their surprise, a flower popped out from under the patch of grass. (Y/n) nearly jumped back, grabbing Frisk's arm in surprise.
"Howdy! I'm Flowey. Flowey the flower." He chirped. "How original." (Y/n) mumbled. The flower seemed to ignore her comment. "Hmm. You two are new to the underground, aren't cha? Golly, you must be so confused. Someone ought to teach you how things work around here. I guess little old me will have to do. Ready? Here we go." Suddenly two red hearts showed up. "Hearts?" (Y/n) asked curiously. "Actually, these are your souls, the very culmination of your beings.
Your souls start off weak, but can grow strong if you gain a lot of LV." Flowey said. "What does that mean?" Frisk asked. "Why love, of course! You want some love, don't you?" Frisk grinned and nodded, but (Y/n) had a bad feeling. "Don't worry. I'll share some with you." Flowey winked, then petals began to appear around him. "Down here, love is shared through little white friendliness pellets. Are you ready? Move around, get as many as you can." Flowey said. "Wait, don't-" (Y/n) called out. Too late. The pellets hit both of their souls. And (Y/n) winced in pain, glaring at the flower despite her fear, and Frisk had stood behind her.
"You idiots! In this world, it's kill or be killed! Why would anyone pass up an opportunity like this?" Multiple pellets surrounded them. "DIE!" The pellets drew closer, but then their injuries suddenly healed, and the flower flew back as a fireball hit him. A tall goat-like woman with snow-white fur and small horns walked up. "Oh, what a terrible creature, torturing such poor, innocent youths..." she frowned. ""No need for fear now, my children. I am Toriel. Caretaker of the Ruins. Come, I shall guide you through the catacombs." (Y/n) and Frisk share a glance, wondering if they should trust her, especially after what happened with Flowey, but chose to trust her for the time being and followed her. "This way." The lady said before she walked away. The two sisters followed her out of the room. "What's this?" (Y/n) asked as she saw a tiny glowing star. She went up and touched it. "The shadow of the ruins looms above,
filling you with determination." A voice said. (Y/n) and Frisk both followed her to another room. "Welcome to your new home innocent ones. Allow me to educate you both in the operating of the ruins." She then stepped on some blocks and pulled a lever. "Do we have to do that too?" (Y/n) asked. "The ruins are full of puzzles. Ancient fusions between diversions and door keys. One most solve them to move from room to room. Please adjust yourselves to the sight of them." Toriel said. They glanced around the room. "Come my children, I shall guide you through the ruins."
"To make progress here you will need to trigger several switches. Do not worry, I have labeled the ones that you need to flip." She said. (Y/n) went to read the next sign. "Stay on the path. Got it." (Y/n) and Frisk walked across the small bridge. (Y/n) looked and saw the yellow arrows pointing to a switch. "She labeled them all right." She said. She went to flip the switch. "I'll get the next one, (Y/n)." Frisk said as she went to flip the next one. "Splendid! I am proud of you, little ones. Let us move to the next room." She said before walking away. "Thank you, Toriel." (Y/n) said as they followed her. "As humans living in the underground, monsters may attack.
