Darkness encloses the dike
As the bell struck its eleventh strike
Visions under flickering light
And phantoms in my dreams at night
Of you, and how you're gone now
I constantly ask myself how
I could ever let you go
And how could I never know
When my eyes caught just a glance
There is no such chance
Of a feather in tempered tempest fall
Maybe time never existed at all
And this is all a ghostly lie
All dance in the shadows until they die
To become visions under flickering lights
Residing in every tear my soul fights
Over your name which in my head haunts
Or over time itself as it taunts
Me for believing in a ghosts gaunt fantasy
There is no you and me
There never will be
Because you don't see
The waste of space wanting embrace
In your eyes leaving no trace
You saw but chose to avoid
My company you never enjoyed
You talked to fill empty air
Or because you couldn't move my chair
A world without me would look the same
Except for one less mind adoring your name
Your love is what I wanted most
Now under the lights I became a ghost
