"Hey  Katie, what are you doing?"my friend Gemma asked me as she came to talk to me when she saw me near the lake "oh nothing much just practicing my skills that I was given being Poseidon's daughter and all" I said, moving my hands in a graceful motion to make waves in the lake's water "as your best friend you know I'm not buying that something else is on your mind and I know what is on your mind it is the same thing that you have thinking every single day why does my brother Percy get all the fame and why don't I get a chance to prove myself to my father"Gemma said, putting her arm around my shoulders "you're right but it seems like I'll never get a chance to prove myself to my father because Percy he's the one who gets to do all this amazing stuff while me his younger sister doesn't even get a chance to do anything"I said, putting my ocean, wavy brown hair and a side ponytail "I'm sure someday you'll get your chance to go on a quest to help the gods and you will prove yourself to your father and show him that you are as brave, smart, resourceful, strong and independent and you don't need a boys help"Gemma said fixing her heart shaped headband that's in her short blonde hair "what does not needing a boy's help have to do with proving myself to my father?"I asked. "oh I'm just adding it on because you're the only girl here who has never kissed a boy, never been on a date, has never had a boyfriend or a crush that I  know of, never had a make out session and has never done the one thing that I think about 50% of the girl population in our camp is done, which is having sex" she said with a smirk "eww gross not me I'm not even ready for that by the time I get married I will be and for your information I had crushes beforeI just don't like mentioning them anyways let's go find Lizzie"I said, standing up and pulling Gemma just stand with me "OK let's go"Gemma said we were walking around camp looking for Lizzie when we bummed into Jeremy more specifically me and him bumped into each other, and we fell to the ground "oh my I am so sorry about that Kayla not looking where I was going. I'm really sorry. Let me help you up"Jeremy said rambling on like a nervous mess but I not surprised he always is like that when he talks to me to me "it's OK Jeremy I'm fine and your glasses are crooked and why are you always so nervous when you talk to me aren't we friends?"I asked him. "we are it's just usually when we run into each other I bump into you and make you fall and I feel so guilty"he said, fixing his green rim glasses and pushing his hand through his unruly brown hair "you don't need to feel guilty. honestly every time I am fine by the way have you seen Lizzie?"I asked. "I think she's in her cabin with that boy Adam from the Apollo cabin"Jeremy said "of course she's in her cabin with her crush I should've known"I said, pushing away some loose strands of hair for my face "probably making out"Gemma said I just looked at her "kayla"I heard a voice voice call me. I turned around to see my one and only brother Percy "hey Percy, what's up?"I asked. "Nothing I just beat some kid in a sword fighting contest.You should've seen it I totally wiped the floor with him."Percy said, being all prideful again "oh my is that kid OK?"I asked concerned about the boy that my brother beat "yeah he's fine but aren't you forgetting something?"he asked hinting at something and I knew what he wanted me to say so I gave him what he wanted. "oh wow, I am so lucky to have such great big brother who is the best swords, man, at this camp. Oh wow, you must be the best. No wonder all the girls swoon over you except for my best friends."I said, mocking him a little bit Gemma stood beside me, trying not to laugh, and Jeremy was snickering a little bit "oh ha ha, very funny but we all know the girls swoon over me because I am so irresistible, handsome"Percy said Playing along with my jokes "of course, but then again that's why all the boys like me because I am irresistibly beautiful we are siblings and we both won the genetic lottery"I said elbowing Percy in the stomach playfully "that is true now I must go and honor my adoring fans with my presence, but I'll talk to you later"Percy said running off "and this is why you should never let a person who is a child of the big three go on more than one quest"I said "hey guys"I heard Lizzie's cheerful voice behind us  along with Adam, who is next to her who had a very rare pink tint to his lips, the same color as Lizzie's lip gloss "hey Lizzie and Adam"I said Gemma didn't say anything because she was afraid of laughing so she just waved her hand "hey Adam nice shade of lipgloss"Jeremy said Gemma couldn't handle me more. She just burst out laughing and said "I knew you two were making out" Lizzie started blushing like crazy and Adam just put his head down "you don't have to be embarrassed Adam We all know you like Lizzie and Lizzie likes you so it's kind of expected this would happen."I said. "And that's coming from a girl who's never had a boyfriend"Gemma added "thank you for putting that out that I am very single still but I can handle it. I don't need a boyfriend at this point in my life."I said. "Because your focus on getting your father's approval Katie it might take some time for him to see what you can do but promise me this one thing when you get a chance to go on a quest, please take Gemma, Jeremy and me with you"Lizzie said "I promise"I said that's my life. I can pretty much I just wish that I could go on a quest, but little did I know that would happen a lot sooner than I expected
