CHAPTER TWO

After school I walk home. I hate going home, I hope my dads not home. He probably will be though, he never leaves. I walk up the steps of my apartment, open the door and I smell alcohol. I look around and see my dad watching TV and drinking a can of beer.

" Cassandra I need money" He slurs

"I don't have money dad." I say trying not to sound afraid.

"Why don't you have money Cassandra I need money I need more beer Cassandra do you understand  how much I put out for you."

I start to get worried. When dad starts babbling I know he's going to get mad."I'm sorry dad I'll try and get some money." I say softly

"No I need money now Cassandra NOW." He says powerfully

He gets up and throws cans across the room. I try to get to my room. To late, hes by my door and he grabs me by the neck. I start to cry "Dad please I'll get you money!"

His grip gets tighter. I can't breath. I spit in his face and he lets go. He wipes my saliva off his sweating face and he has an angry look in his eye. He swings once, I feel a pain in my jaw. I start to cry.

"Cassandra you are a horrible daughter. Such a waste of space." he slurs

I lay on the floor with blood coming from my lip. He kicks my head, hard.

I'm out.
