I Was A Flight Risk...

I wake up when we land, my head on Reid's shoulder. Oh. My head is on Reid's shoulder.

My father is looking over me, clearly annoyed.

I sit up quickly and look over at Reid, "Sorry".

"It's okay. He doesn't seem upset. I give him a small smile before turning back to my father.

"I- I didn't- I was asleep!" I try to explain that it's not my fault and I didn't know, but he gives me a warning look and walks off the jet.

I turn to Reid to apologize again. "I'm so sorry. If that happens again, feel free to push me off of you."

He laughs slightly "It's Okay. Really."

I'm not going to admit to myself I didn't mind waking up on his shoulder.

We step off the get and into the dark. Well, as dark as Las Vegas gets. We pile into cars to head to the hotel. I'm with JJ, Alvez and Reid.

"Spence, have you called your mom?" JJ asks from the driver's seat.

"Yeah. I'm going to see her this weekend.”{

I must be visibly confused because Alvez chimes in from the passenger seat. “Spencer over here is from Las Vegas. His mom is in a facility here. He's banned from every casino in Las Vegas.”

“Banned?”

Reid smiles, proud. “For my card counting abilities.”

“That's right. Spencer isn't just a pretty face. He's a great gambler too,” Alvez jokes from the front.

I would laugh but I have a sinking feeling my face is pink. I look out the window and hide my face from the team.

We arrive at the hotel along with the second SUV. We head around to the trunk to grab our bags. Reid effortlessly throws JJ her bag and she catches it (less effortlessly might I add) and then to Alvez who is still by the
front of the car.

He's memorizing, the way he so effortlessly and fluidly tosses the heavy bags. I can't take my eyes off him.

He goes to toss me my bag, but he stops right before it escapes his grasp. He instead walks towards me and carefully hands me the bag, making sure it's not too heavy
before he lets go.

My eyes widen and my entire body relaxes when our gazes meet. His demeanor softens and he slowly releases the bag. My gaze lands on his partially parted lips, then it drops down to his hands. LORD. His wonderful hands. They're so elegant. Long and veiny. The way he moves them is so constant and addictive. His hands move up to his face and lightly skim over his jaw. He pushes back his hair and licks his lips as he grabs a bag of his own from the back of the car, the back of his hand meeting under his jaw and then moving to massage the back of his neck as he walks away.

I'm  left in awe as he leaves  and Alvez comes up behind me.

He puts his arm on my shoulder. “He likes you. That's good. He needs someone.” There's a moment of silence before JJ walks up next to us.

“He wasn't always like this. That's just a shell. Somewhere along the way…” she sighs as he walks into the hotel and we lose sight of him. “This job took everything from him.”

The team all meet in the lobby to divide into pairs and head up to rooms. JJ and Prentiss as well as Alvez and Lewis by the time I walk in. Reid has already disappeared up to his lone room and my father is checking in for us.

Great, I think. I'm rooming with my father. I close my eyes and sigh before walking over to him.

"What do you mean it's double-booked?!”I hear my dad say.

“Unfortunately, there was an issue with the website and your room has already been checked in. We do have one last room, however, it's a one bed. Luckily, since the rooms were booked as a group, I can give one of you the key card to the room Dr. Reid just checked into.”

My father opens his mouth to speak, but I cut him off. “We'll do that, thank you.”

She smiles and hands us each a key card with a different room number on it.

I have room three seventy-nine. Without a word to my father, before he can speak I quickly grab my bag and head to the elevator

I step off the elevator on floor three and turn to the left, rooms three forty-one through three eighty, I walk to the end of the hallway. I scan the key card on the door a couple times before I finally get the door to open.

“Stupid fuc-”I look up and into the room, seeing a naked, changing Reid. “Ah!”
