Time for Midnight

Chapter 5: Get to Know Each Other

   Where are we?" Midnight asked as he looked up at the sea foam green castle before them.

                     "Shimmy's place." Pinkie replied with a smile.

                                 "However, our destination is behind it." Cheese added.

                                              "Huh?" Midnight said in confusion as he followed Pinkie and Cheese to the castle's backyard.

         There was a few trees, flowers, a pool and a clubhouse with a treehouse next to it.  They walked towards the clubhouse.

                               Pinkie and Cheese looked around for something, or more accurately someone.

                                       "Hmm. Paradise and Shimmer must not be back, yet." Cheese said as he scratched his chin.

                                  Pinkie pulled her phone out of her hair. "Shimmy, where are you?"

                                         "Oh, hi. Pinkie." Shimmer said on the other end. "Paradise and I are still looking for Midnight."

                                                 "Cheese and I found him, already." Pinkie revealed. 

                                                     "That's good." Shimmer said. "Is he ok?"

                                                        Pinkie looked and saw Midnight leaning up against the side of the clubhouse on his phone, while Cheese was swinging on the swing. "He's fine."

                                                    "Are you guys at the clubhouse?" Shimmer asked, curiously.

                                                        "Yep." Pinkie replied.

                                                           "Ok. We'll be right there." Shimmer said as she hung up.

                                   Pinkie turned to the guys. "Shimmer and Paradise are on their way here."

                                                    Midnight raised an eyebrow. "Who's Paradise?"

                                                             "Hmm. Strange." Cheese said. "She seemed to know you."

                                           "I don't recognize the name." Midnight admitted as he shook his head.

                                                            Sometime later, Shimmer and Paradise arrived.

                                                                 As soon as Midnight saw Paradise, everything made sense. He approached her. "Nice to see you, again."

                                                          "Oh. Um, you too." Paradise agreed. "I'm guessing they told you my name." she said as she gestured to Pinkie and Cheese who smiled at her.

                                                                 "Yep." Midnight said. "Guess you already know mine too, right?"

                                                                    Paradise nodded. "Sorry for grabbing your tail, earlier."

                                                                        "It's ok." Midnight assured. "Besides, it was a nice surprise. Meeting a fellow necklace wearing party planner."

                                                                 "I know right." Paradise agreed. 

                                                                   "You guys should totally hang out, together." Cheese suggested. "And see what else you have in common."

                                                                  Pinkie nodded. "Also, you two remind me of Cheese and I."

                                                               Cheese's eyes widened in realization. "I see it."

                                                                        "So, what do you say, Paradise?" Midnight asked as he held his hand out to her. "I know we just met but I'd really like to get to know you."

                                                                Paradise took his hand in hers. "Alright, let's do it."

                                                                    Midnight and Paradise ran away from the castle.

                                               "Not bad, guys." Shimmer said as she turned to Pinkie and Cheese.

                                                     "It's a gift." Pinkie said as she crossed her arms.

                                                           "That you learned from Rarity." Cheese teased.

                                                                       "Shh." Pinkie said as she put a finger to her mouth.

                                                                    "You wanna spy on them?" Cheese asked, curiously.

                                                                             "Do I?" Pinkie asked in reply. "Shimmer, wanna come?"

Shimmer held up her hands and shook her head. "No, no. I've got stuff to do. You guys have fun."

                                                                             "Don't worry. I'll keep you informed." Pinkie called with a wink as she and Cheese walked to the front of the castle.

                                                                    "Thanks." Shimmer replied as she entered the clubhouse.
