Rubber Ball's POV:

As soon as Clipboard leaves, I sigh, sitting back down on the cold, hard floor. The thing on the wall that Clipboard called a clock tells me that it's almost time for training, due to the stick things pointing to the ceiling. "I wonder what I'm going to have to do today." I thought. A few seconds later, the door opens to Screw. "Good afternoon, 0-1. It's time for training." He says in his usual monotone voice. I stand up as he opens the glass door and walks through. He grabs me by the tail and walks me out the room and down the hallway. We turn down another hallway towards the training room. He opens the door and pushes me inside. I look around and see a few robots standing in front of me. They power on and stand in a fighting position, ready to attack me. "Oh boy," I thought. "Not this again." I stood in a fighting position as well, preparing to defend myself. "You may begin." A voice said, coming from seemingly nowhere. The first one charges at me quickly, but I was ready and quickly dodged the robot. I then extended my tail, grabbed the robot by its leg, and started swinging it around in a circular motion to use it as a weapon. The other three came charging at me, all coming from different directions. I threw the first robot at the one in front of me, destroying both of them. I heard one coming from behind me and moved out of the way, sticking my leg out so it tripped over me. It hit the ground and tried to get back up, but I picked it up and smashed it. I took a minute to catch my breath and looked around. "Wait," I thought. "Wasn't there one more-" My thoughts were interrupted by something tackling me from above. It hit me on the head and pinned me to the ground as I struggled to get out of its grasp. I stretched out my leg to grab the robot's waist and pushed it off me. It quickly regained its balance and scratched my cheek. I yelped on pain and retaliated by kicking it square in the chest, knocking it back. It stumbled back so I grabbed its leg and pulled it towards me. It fell on its back and shut off. I sat down on the floor, wincing due to the pain from my cheek and head. Screw came in with a box full of injury fixing stuff. (Bro does not know what a medical kit is called, lol.) He patched me up and dragged me back to my room. "Good job today, 0-1." Screw said. "Crystal is slightly impressed with how quickly you're learning." I looked up at him surprised. I had no clue that she was watching me. "Here's your lunch. Have fun." He set down my lunch and left without another word. As I sat down to eat, I thought, "I wonder what Clipboard's doing right now."

Clipboard's POV:

"Ok, have you tried turning it off, and then turning it back on?... Okay try it then... It's loading?... Oh, great! Alright, was that all?... Ok then, have a great day ma'am!" I ended the call and slumped back in my chair.

"Long day, huh?" A voice said from behind me. I spun around, turning to face the object peeking over my cubicle. "Jeez, why the long face?" They said, giggling.

"Just a bit tired." I said.

"I understand. The first few weeks, the excitement off starting a new job keeps ya going. Then once that's gone, you realize that this job is extremely boring. Waiting for a random person to call and complain about their computer not turning on. Watching paint dry is more fun." They say.

"How long have you been working here?" I ask them.

"Two long years." They said. "Name's Night Light."

Night Light extended their hand out and I shook it. "Clipboard. Nice to meet you." I responded.

"So, Clipboard, why did you decide to work here? Don't you have something better to do with your life?" They asked.

"Well, not really. I was looking for a job and found an add in the newspaper that said they were hiring, so I took a chance and sent an application. The job pays good money, so why not? I'd rather be bored than out on the streets."

"Alright, true. But you don't have any hobbies or something else you'd rather be doing?"

I thought about it for a moment. "I guess I'd rather be working on my computer."

"Really? You'd rather be typing some random essay, or reorganizing your files?"

"No, I meant working on my computer as in modifying it."

"Huh?"

"How do you think I got this job? Being able to fix electronics is kinda important when working for an electronic company."

"Yeah, but you said that you're modifying it. What, are you decorating it or something?"

"Actually, I'm trying to make a better processer so that it can compute data faster than the normal computer. I'm also trying to make it easier to carry, so I'm trying to make it condensable enough to fit into my pocket."

"...That's flippin' awesome."

"Heh, thanks."

Night Light's phone started ringing. "Well, guess I'd better get that. I'll talk to you later, Clipboard." They said.

"Alright, see ya!" I responded. I turned back to my desk and started thinking about how Rubber Ball's doing. "He's probably just as bored as I am, sitting in a box with nothing to do except stare at the wall." I thought.

"Just a few more hours until I can go and see him."

I love how it took me days just to come up with the title, lol. ANYWAYS, thanks for 80 reads! I'm sincerely surprised people actually read this crappy story. I'll try to upload more, but no promises! Midterms this week means less time to write cuz' I'm too busy studying! But, seriously thanks for reading this dumb story so far. Don't worry, it's gonna get better!
