Chapter 3

MEGAN POV

I wake up to an announcement saying we have docked at Amber Cove. Dominican Republic...I have the excursion to swim with the dolphins but...I don't feel like it.

Oh gosh Ashley and Jonathan have the same excursion. I'm definitely not going!

With a knock on my door I know it's them but I'm not gonna answer. But shit it could be the guy to clean the room. I knew I should've put that snoozin card on the door. I look through the peephole and it's Ashley... fuck!

Our excursion is for another hour for the pick up; so she's definitely not gonna be in a rush to leave my door. She knocks again making me jump nearly falling by the door.

"Megan. Megan; please open the door. We have our excursion"

"Now if you don't go; I won't be going...I don't care about it; I care about you more"
"Please Megan open up..." she continues to say as she knocks

I sit on my bed looking through instagram till my phone is snatched out my hand scaring me. I look up coming face to face with Ashley.

I stutter wondering how in the hell did she get in!
"Wondering how I got in huh; I have my ways. Now go get ready. You heard me calling you and you don't answer. Get ready"

"Why?"
"Cause you paid for this cruise. You're supposed to be having fun even if your friend is sick. Now go!" She shouts pushing me to the bathroom

"Isn't this nice. Look at this sun!" Isis says as we're waiting for the van to come and pick us up

Ashley rubs my left arm as I remain silent. I think that's best.

In my bathing suit I look down at the dolphins as they swim; knowing it's gonna be my turn to go in the water with them. I feel someone stand next to me and I can tell it's Ashley.

"You okay?"
"I'm fine" I say

Before she can say anything our group is called to be next for swimming which I'm grateful for now. Being first in I'm shitting bricks cause why did I rush in here; I should've took my damn time.

Sitting around the end of the makeshift pool for us to interact with the dolphins I hear Isis talking to Ashley.

More like apologizing; then saying it's better this way. I just don't even care...

Alright your turn, I hear making my heart stop as the trainer points to me

First I hug the dolphin slowly scared to touch it. But it feels so soft and...rubbery. Then it jumps up kissing my cheek as a photo is taken. I smile right on cue.

Then I'm asked to sit back down as everyone else takes their pictures. Then is the best thing of all; swimming with them.

In the open water I stand on a plank waiting for the dolphin to come and grab me picking me up a bit above the water. I shout loudly in excitement at the speed and height I'm at; then go crashing down into the water. I swim back up to the surface laughing as everyone else cheers for me.

I swim to where everyone is and enjoy the warmth of the water as another dolphin swims next to me.

"Megan; can we talk?" I hear as we're getting back on the boat

I pretend to not hear anything as I look at the magnetics and tequila I got. After going through the detectors I hand over my tequila bottle earning my pick up slip for the end of the trip.
