I un ball and ball my fist in anger; I know we lied and she was left to take care of our child by herself. But to call us monsters and has me angry. But could it be true? She was right if she didn't have Aylani we would have killed the other two people in front and then we would've been able and we would be in a good position and I don't think she would've had to all. And sadly that's the harsh reality we have to face.
Dave enters in the kitchen and notices my anger.
"What happened now man?"
"She doesn't want us to be involved in Aylani's life. She even called us monsters; and I'm starting to believe that we are"
"Well we are monsters...that's why I wanna get out of this. All these killings; and like today when Kelly found out she killed that innocent guy for that senators bullshit. It hurts to know that we hurt innocent people and literally didn't give a shit about it...so yeah we are monsters"
"But does that mean we should stay away from Aylani?"
"Look...we kill that's what we do. That's all we know. After this do you see yourself being a dad. Like what you gonna do after this? Where you gonna work?" He ask
I think for a minute cause I don't know.
"Man I don't know...but all I know is that I wanna be there for my child. And Megan as well"
"Ohh my nigga caught feelings" he says clowning
"Cut that shit, alright....Bey ain't been too happy with Megan. But she does want to be in Aylani life as well" I say looking around making sure Bey ain't coming down
"Well just show Megan you can be a parent. Prove her wrong"
I nod my head listening I guess we got a lot of work ahead of us.
THE NEXT DAY
"Good morning everyone; I made breakfast" I say as everyone piles into the kitchen
I watch as they all look at the spread on the table.
"Well damn Shawn you was not playing" Kelly says laughing grabbing a plate
"Babe you made all of this?" Bey whispers asking me
"I sure did" I say smiling proud of myself
"Why?"
"Trying to prove that we're not monsters" I whisper back to her
"Aww babe...don't worry about that. It's all gonna work out"
Our phones go off and just as happy and peaceful as it was; it's tense. Cause we know who it is; the Boss.
I look at the message and sigh loudly.
"What's wrong?" I hear Glo ask
"The Boss is asking for a status...I-I honestly don't know what to say for the first time" Dave says speechless
"I got this. I'mma just tell him the truth; we can't do it"
"And watch him hire everyone else to come for us too....that's setting a death trap for us"
Our phone beeps again; and my heart drops.
"He knows...." Bey mumbles looking at me
"Okay; since we're all in this we have to ban together. Tell us what we need to do" Ma says
"Have any of y'all ever held a gun before?" I ask everyone
Nearly everyone shakes their head no except Megan.
"I know how to shoot...well not really; but I shot a gun before" she says not looking at me
"okay good we can work with that"
"Okay Ma; we're gonna give you a taser and some knives. Just throw them and tase whoever comes in your way" Dave tells her
She nods her head; "I can do that. I can definitely stab someone" she says making us laugh
"Kellon, Glo; y'all both gonna learn how to shoot. Right now" I say telling them to follow me into the gun range downstairs
"Alright point, aim and shoot. Don't be scared, just release and whatever you do don't drop the gun. Always keep it pointed away from you" I tell them showing them as I hold my glock
I pass the 380 to Kellon for him to try to start off small; and he takes it with a shakey hand. I pass Glo a 9mm and she happily takes it saying she been dying to do this. I watch as they shoot the target getting better and better as they continue on.
When they take a break Glo ask me to take a picture of her as she pretends to shoot at the target since she cleaned the whole magazine.
"So, do y'all know why Megan shot a gun? I don't take her to be the one to ever have done that" I ask trying to dig for information
"Shit I'm trying to find out too..Cause I expected it to be me"
"....sometimes we're put in situations we shouldn't be in" Glo says making me wonder even more
"She gonna kill me; but Jorden...that fucking bastard threatened her. He was so angry when she was pregnant. And even angrier after she had Aylani; he wanted to get back together but of course she didn't. He was a cheater and a manipulator; she got a restraining order against him and he still tried to get to her...He-He tried to kill her, brought a gun and all to her apartment. So she fought him and she shot him in the shoulder in front of Lani....it makes sense now. Since he's a killer too; well was a killer.... ugh that's all I'm gonna tell you. Cause I said too much" she says sighing
I look at Kellon as he looks at me with nothing but anger within us. "I'm glad he's dead now"
"Nah now I wish I would've tortured his ass first" I mutter angrily
"Oh my gosh stop! You keep thinking like that she'll always look at you like a monster...just like Jorden was; a monster" Glo says hitting my left shoulder
I nod my head understanding and refill my Glock magazine and keep shooting the target till I clean it out.
"Damn...are you teaching or showing off" I hear seeing Dave smiling
"Look we got a problem" he says
"So you telling me that he got every fucking assassin, hit man, hit woman; whatever the fuck y'all call y'all selves hunting us now! More than they were before!" Megan shouts
"Okay Meg I know you are stressed but think of Lani...no cussing in front of her" Ma says
"Sorry Ma this is just...crazy. Crazy and frustrating as hell. And- And; just kill us now. Don't hurt Aylani though...just take care of her"
"Megan you're talking crazy now! You want your child to grow up without you! Think girl" Ma says
Megan continues to shake her head.
"Clearly he's gonna keep hunting us till we're dead. What kind of living is that? Our jobs were already questioning where we were. We ditched our phones so they're not tracked. Like what kind of living is this? I rather Aylani to be with them and safe then to live like this"
"Aylani needs you. We will protect you all with our lives no matter what. Kellon did nothing wrong and for some nonsense he wants you all dead. I refuse to let that happen. So please continue to fight with us as we fight for y'all" I say as everyone agrees
I look at Megan as she wipes her face; "I-I just want Aylani to be safe. She's been through too much already"
"Megan...we got y'all. Trust me" I say
She shakes her head putting it down. I walk infront of her grab her chin making her look in my face.
"Trust me"
She nods her head looking at me. We stare at each other for a minute and I watch her lick her lips and I instantly want to kiss them. But I let her go stepping backwards before anything happens.
"Now that we're all on the same page. We gotta get some more bullets" Kelly says
