TW: abuse and cutting
A week earlier.
"Where do you think you're going?" Aaron finishes the rest of his beer and lets out a burp. The stench of his breath and the smell of beer filled the small apartment.
"The store" Clare's voice wavered as she inched towards the door.
Aaron looked at her attire seeing that it covered her body. "Get me some more beer while you're out" he turned back to the tv.
She didn't respond to him and quickly left the apartment. She'd need to hurry back before he found Remi, sometimes he didn't but other times he did and it never ended well.

Remi sat in the back of her parent's closet with her legs to her chest mad her eyes squeezed tight. She had a fear of the dark after the many times she was in the cabinet out in the hallway.
Aaron kept it right outside her room to show her that he would put her in there whenever he wanted.
It was usually at night and she would always hear his friends laughs and her mother's screams.
She memorized her scream.
No matter how traumatizing it was she had her bear with her that kept her safe. But she didn't have him right now and she needs him.
Her mother told her to stay out until she came and got her but she really needed her bear.
After listing all the things her bear does for her, she decided to go get him from the hallway.
1. He was soft
2. He smelled good
3. Gave good cuddles
4. Protected her
5. Very comfyRemi tiptoed out of the closet and ran to the hallway to get him. Once she found him she turned to go back into her hiding place but then her stomach rumbled.
She peeked behind the wall to see Aaron snoring loudly on the couch.
She tiptoed to the kitchen and into the pantry looking for a snack. There wasn't much food on the shelves but just enough for a snack.
As Remi spotted some applesauce and started to reach for one a rough hand caught her writs and twisted it causing her to let out a scream.
She cried out as Aaron dragged her out of the pantry.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry"
"How many times do I have to tell you to not eat my food" he pushed her to the ground and kicked her stomach, she sobbed as her leg hit the side of the wood table.
"S-sorry-y"
"NO, YOU'RE NOT YOU SELFISH BRAT. YOU TAKE EVERYTHING THAT DOESN'T BELONG TO YOU. I TOLD YOU ABOUT TAKING MY STUFF AND YOU DONT LISTEN" he picked her up by the hair and slammed her back on the table.
Remi continued to scream and gag as she tried to get away but Aaron just pulled her back by her hair rougher.
He grabbed the knife from its holder and held it against her neck.
"I-im sorry. P-please don't h-hurt me-e" her bright blue eyes that glossed with tears looked into his brown eyes that held so much hate and evil.
Her eyes used to be filled with happiness and love now they're just... empty.
"Hopefully you'll learn your lesson now" he took the knife away from her neck and brought it to her wrist where he pressed down hard enough to draw blood.
He cut each of her wrists and her ankles. Leaving her blood to pool around her.
By the time he was finished remi had stopped crying and was on the verge of passing out.
He went back to the couch and continued watching whatever movie was on.
Clare emerged from the front door and her eyes immediately went to her poor daughter laying with blood surrounding her. She threw the groceries on the floor and rushed to her daughter's side.
"It's okay baby mommy's got you" she picked her up and took her to the bathroom to clean her up. She swallowed back her tears.
"YOU'RE A MONSTER AND WILL BURN IN HELL" Clare screamed at him when she walked past him.
He chuckled as he heard the bathroom door close and lock.
