The days that followed were fragile but hopeful. Jisung and Minho made a silent agreement to communicate better, to stop letting their fears and insecurities eat away at what they had.
It wasn't perfect-they still had moments of doubt, of frustration-but they had promised each other to try. That was enough, for now.
One evening, after another successful performance, the group returned to the dorm in high spirits. Jisung was in the kitchen, grabbing a drink, when Hyunjin came up beside him, a thoughtful look on his face.
"You and Minho have been acting... weird lately," Hyunjin said, not quite meeting Jisung's eyes.
Jisung froze, feeling his heart skip a beat. "Weird? What do you mean?"
Hyunjin shrugged, grabbing a snack from the counter. "I don't know. You guys have always been close, but lately, it feels... different. Are you guys okay?"
Jisung forced a smile, trying to keep his voice steady. "Yeah, we're fine. Just tired, I guess."
Hyunjin studied him for a moment longer before nodding. "Okay. Just... let me know if you need to talk."
As Hyunjin walked away, Jisung let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. The walls were closing in, and their secret was starting to feel more fragile than ever. If Hyunjin had noticed, how long until the others did too? How long until everything came crashing down?
Later that night, as Jisung lay in bed, his mind raced with possibilities. Could they really keep this up? Could they continue pretending like nothing had changed when, in reality, everything had?
He turned to his phone, quickly typing a message to Minho.
Jisung:
"Hyunjin's starting to notice."A few moments later, his phone buzzed with Minho's reply.
Minho:
"We'll be careful. Don't worry."But Jisung did worry. Every day felt like a ticking time bomb, and he couldn't shake the feeling that sooner or later, something was going to give.
