Long ago... The goddess of Inference: Kagwangkupal, had brought upon 3 warriors from the beyond.
One, a brave and powerful swordsman. The second, an incredibly wise and intelligent wizard. And the third and final one, a stealthy and oddly charismatic ranger. The 3 valiant heroes were tasked with battling beings from the dark or demons as most people call them, there are unstoppable with the gifts which were given to them by the heavenly beings.
Or so they thought....
They all thought. The dark beings are ones that should NEVER be underestimated and looked down on, Demon King, Demon Duke, Demon Queen or whatever the hell type of demon they are so long as they are in the demon royal ranks. It has been an unspoken rule that has been known by all, unfortunately that rule doesn't seem like it has reach the 3 heroes. Now they are in a losing battle against the Demon Queen of Charvaley, dozens of deceased humans and demons scattered across the battlefield, one hero suffering with mana overuse, one hero suffering from a critical would, and the final one desperately trying to seek a chance of victory or escaping despite the situation they're in.
“Damn it- Pakula, go check on Kupali!!! I'll distract her attention from you guys.” Kagwangka cursed to himself as he ordered Pakula to aid their injured ally, Kupali. The wizard nodded and dashed towards Kupali, trying to save the leftover life essence that still remains inside of the swordsman.
(Note: Kagwangka is the Ranger, Kupali is the swordsman and Pakula is the wizard)
The demon queen stood tall and menacing, her strength almost able to rival or even to surpass a demon king's own, it's no wonder that the royal demon ranks in every region had remained the same for all these eons. Kupali laid bleeding on the ground, a cursed sword impaling his torso making it difficult for the wizard to heal even though they have a large quantity of healing potions in their possession. “Don't worry Kupali, we'll get you some help! Just stay calm and don't you dare fall asleep on me, you hear me idiot!” Pakula kept pouring healing potions on Kupali's wound, the healing potions aren't very effective on closing it but they are at least keeping the swordsman alive... Too bad alive isn't the right status that we need in this battle.
Meanwhile, just a few yards away, a young elven ranger was trying to force himself to stay awake. Falling asleep is not advisable when battling this particular demon queen, her ‘lullabies’ can lead anyone to their doom once they have fallen for it. The demon queen hummed, “You're an odd bunch, I've never encountered more than one summoned being at the same time, especially not one who isn't human. You intrigue me so I shall propose an offer, leave your comrades, join our army. I am much more merciful than our Lord, if you do so then I might just spare all of those pesky humans running around and make you my pet.”
To say that Kagwangka was mad would be an understatement, he's furious, not because that demon wench wanted him to be her little plaything, but because she wants him to leave his friends. He already knows that the demon queen would most likely not keep her promise, but there's also the face that his friends would go after him. If by a miracle Kupali survives this, he'd end up being chased by an angry swordsman and a bloodthirsty wizard for the rest of eternity. They'd die trying to get him back and that's not something that he wants to happen, if they die then they have to die together. Kagwangka clicked his tongue, “I'll never leave them behind for someone as ugly as you.” For a moment there, the elven actually felt proud of himself, you don't get a chance to insult a demon from the royal ranks everyday.
The young elven braced himself as he cast stealth on himself and attacked the demon queen from behind. The demon queen scowled at the attack, “Such insolence, I was trying to be nice and this is what I got in return.” She summoned one of her golems and directed it at the ranger, Kagwangka managed to stab it but then it started to glow, ‘Shit-’ The boy thought to himself.
Explosions can be heard from the distance, Pakula looked towards that direction and felt the ground rumbling from the impact. A figure came flying at them, she assumed that it was just debris from the impact of the explosions until she realized that it wasn't when it landed dangerously close to Kupali who still laid on the ground. Kagwangka had landed right next to them, slightly injured but still kicking and breathing. Pakula was thankful that she cast a defensive buff right before she ran towards Kupali earlier.
Kagwangka groggily stood up and coughed a bit of blood as he spoke up, “Sorry girl, I don't think I can hold her back for any longer...” He was met with a glass bottle shattering on his head, feeling the sting of the glass shards on his scalp before it disappeared almost immediately after, a healing potion Kagwangka assumed. “I can't keep healing you guys forever, I'm starting to run out of potions on me. There has to be another way out of this other than joining or fighting that wrinkled hag.”
There goes another rumbling, that demon can basically hear everything happening in this place. Before they knew it, they were right under a field of arrows. Pakula, despite her lack of mana, attempted to cast a shield. She succeeded but at the cost of a small amount of her life essence.
As the dust cleared, the Demon Queen's figure came into view, red and fuming of anger. Kupali sat up, much to Pakula's annoyance, “God damn it Kupali, you're gonna kill yourself if you keep moving.” Pakula would've raised a hand and given the swordsman a good slap in the face if it weren't for that cursed sword which is still stuck on his torso, she can't take it off since Kupali might immediately pass on due to blood loss.
“Hey I'd say that you're just as bad as I am, casting spells left and right and using up your life essence. If anything, you're the one who's closer to being at deaths door,” Kupali moved his head slightly, noticing Kagwangka who's about to go back with fighting, “And don't think that you're safe on this one Kagwangka, I know that you're trying to distract her but there's no point.” Kupali heard Kagwangka click his tongue yet still continued, “And besides... we're no match for her. We're gonna lose no matter what we do, but hey- if we die we die together right? It'd be nice if a respawn thingy existed in this world like in those video games, I'm gonna miss you assholes... honestly.”
Pakula looked towards the distance as she cast yet another spell, her hair slowly turning white with every spell she had cast. “This man is trying to make me cry in a life or death situation, I'm gonna kill you myself, just you wait-” Kagwangka interrupted the wizard and swordsmen's potential to start at a final banter. “Hey come on now guys... We're about to die in a few minutes ya know, so why don't we go out with a flashy bang? Literally....” The Demon Queen laughed several golems in the trio's direction, Pakula cast one last spell before falling to her knees as the Ranger and swordsman fought off the golems.
The trio looked up and saw the Demon Queen casting a summoning spell, the other golems grabbing onto them as the newly summoned golem manifested and began falling to the ground. The trio knew that it was an explosive golem, there was no escape, even if they did- they'd die of blood loss, exhaustion and/or mana overuse. They glanced at each other before bracing themselves for the final blow, locking the light before it flashed and a harsh heat had consumed them, not a single trace had remained.
The goddess sighed at the scene, “Another failure, it shall be fine... Time to find a new hero once again.” THEY concluded. Kagwangkupal, the goddess of inference, THEY'RE known for THEIR hasty decisions, THEIR works never go as planned, even with the help of other holy beings. Now another being shall suffer from her fore sights.
