The day when Sara was to meet the other chosen ones came sooner than she expected. The weeks had been intense, filled with training and preparation, but now she stood on the threshold of something that would change her life forever.
Elias had given her exact instructions as to where the meeting should take place. It was not in the old factory, but in a remote forest, far from the city. The site was carefully chosen far from the prying eyes of humans, and protected by the natural forces that had watched over the forest for centuries.
Sara could feel the tension shivering in her body as she walked along the narrow path through the forest. The trees towered around her like silent guardians, and the air was cool and filled with the scent of moss and damp earth. Each step felt like a step closer to a destiny she didn't fully understand but knew she had to embrace.
Finally she reached a clearing in the forest. The last rays of the sun crept through the treetops and cast a golden glow over the small, open area. In the middle of the clearing stood an old stone altar, covered in moss and engraved with symbols that reminded her of the ones from the factory.
And there, at the altar, stood the others.
There were three of them, all with an expression of cautious curiosity mixed with the same uneasiness she herself felt. A tall, slim man with dark hair and intense blue eyes. A girl her own age, with curly red hair and freckles that spread like stars across her cheeks. And a slightly older man, with close-cropped hair and a calm, poised air that exuded experience.
They turned to her as she stepped into the clearing, and she could feel their gaze like a physical touch. For a moment they all just stood there staring at each other as if trying to understand what they were actually a part of.
The red haired girl was the first to break the silence. "You must be Sara," she said with a warm voice and a small smile that broke the tense atmosphere. "I'm Livia. It's good to finally meet you."
Sara breathed a sigh of relief and walked over to them. "Yes, it's me," she replied, holding out her hand to Livia, who immediately took it. "I'm glad to be here."
The tall man with the blue eyes gave her a curt nod. "I'm Leo," he said, keeping a bit of distance as if he was still taking it all in. "And this is Tobias," he added, gesturing to the older man who was standing back a bit.
Tobias stepped forward and extended his hand towards Sara. His grip was firm and reassuring. "Welcome," he said in a deep, calm voice. "I've heard a lot about you."
Sara felt a wave of heat wash through her. These were the people the stars had chosen to stand with her. Even though they had only just met, she could already feel a strong connection between them, as if they had all been waiting for this moment.
"I know we have a lot to talk about," Livia said, breaking the silence that had once again settled over the group. "But I think we should make sure we're alone here first."
Tobias nodded. "Good idea. We have to make sure we're not being watched."
They spread out into the clearing and Sara could feel their concentration as they used their powers to scan the area for any threats. She closed her eyes and let the energy of the Source flow through her, feeling the way it interacted with the nature around them. There were no enemies around, only the calm pulse of the forest accepting their presence.
"We're safe," Tobias finally said, turning to the others. "But we still have to be careful. There are forces that could track us down if we're not careful."
Leo nodded gravely. "We must act quickly. Our enemies do not rest."
Livia walked back to the center of the clearing and sat on the edge of the stone altar. "So let's begin. We're here because we've been chosen, and that means we have a responsibility. We need to understand what we're facing and how we can protect the Source."
Sara sat down next to her and the others followed suit. They now sat in a small circle around the altar, as if it were their common center. A calm silence spread between them as they all let the gravity of their situation sink in.
Tobias was the first to speak. "We've all had training, in different ways. But now that we're together, we need to work as a unit. We need to learn to understand each other's strengths and weaknesses so we can protect each other and the Source."
Leo looked over at Sara, his blue eyes serious. "Have you had any visions of what we face?"
Sara hesitated for a moment, then shook her head. "Nothing concrete. But I've felt a growing threat, like something dark is coming. I think we've all felt it."
Livia nodded, a faint frown forming between her brows. "Yes, I have too. Something is chasing us. Something powerful."
Tobias leaned forward and spoke in a calm but determined voice. "We have to be prepared for the worst. But we also have to remember that we have the stars on our side. They chose us because they believe in us. And now it's our turn to believe in each other."
Sara felt a warmth spread in her chest at his words. He was right. They had to rely on each other, on their shared strength. They had all been through a lot to get here, and now they were united in a common cause.
"We're in this together," Sara said, meeting each of their gazes. "And no matter what comes, we will stand strong. For the Source. For the universe."
The others nodded, a bond of agreement binding them closer together. The clearing, which before had felt like a distant place in a distant forest, was now the center of something much bigger. They were the chosen ones and their journey had only just begun.
With one last glance at the starry sky above them, they stood up, ready to take the next step in their joint struggle.
