It was pretty windless the rest of the day, nothing too taxing. We went back to the station for lunch as Zoe had paperwork to finish and we didn't get any calls. I caught up on reports that'd I'd been putting off and worked for almost 45minutes before I went to the coffee room to get something to drink. As I was pouring my drink, Lucy came in, as bubbly as ever. She spotted me in the corner and immediately smiled, making her way over to me. "Hey Tey!" She chirped, "hey Luce," I giggled at her happieness, "coffee?" I asked, to which she nodded. We caught up on how our days were going, luckily for me, whatever flirty mood she was in this morning, seemed to have passed. I don't think I'd have been able to hold back if it had continued. Let's just say that. She then brought up the whole Jackson ignoring me thing. Great. "Yeh, he seemed pretty pissed." She pointed out, I agreed, nodding my head. "What happened?" She asked, curiosity laced her voice. She was always one for gossip. I didn't know whether I should tell her the whole truth, or just part of it. She looked at me expectantly. Fuck it.

"I went on a run this morning, Jackson went to the store and when we both got back, the apartment had been absolutely trashed. Nothing was taken, thank god." Her jaw dropped, "Did you call the police?" She asked, concerned. I simply shook my head, going back to making her coffee. "Why not? Someone broke into your house Tey! Sounds like they did it just to send a message, I mean why else would they leave everything just to trash the place? You need to find out who before they do something worse!" She exclaimed. I handed her coffee over to her, "Luce, chill ok? I know who did it and I'm gonna sort it out." I said plainly. Her head snapped towards me, "you know? Who?" She asked, shocked. "My family." I shrugged. She opened her mouth to say something, but thought against it, closing it again.

We stayed sipping away at our coffees. Her processing and me just waiting for her. She then spoke up. "...your family." Was all she said. "Sí mi amor, mi familia." I said, slowly. "Damn. Ok then, what are we gonna do?" She asked. I sighed, "there's no we, Luce, you're not getting involved. I won't let you." I said. She went to say something but I place my finger on her lips. "Nope. Mi familia, mi problema, ¿Entiendes?" I asked, she nodded. "Good, now I gotta get back out there, paperwork calls. Be safe Luce." I winked, earning a toothy grin from her. I walked out, a smile on my face. Just as I was about to get back to my desk, Zoe came running over, "Teyah, we're being called back out, load up the shop." She said, she looked exited, I don't blame her, being captain meant she never got to come out on patrol. I grabbed our war bags and hurried them over to our shop, jumping in the drivers side as Zoe hopped into the passengers side, and we were off. The call info came up on our box, it read that it was a shooting, a gang shooting. My blood ran cold for a while, unsure if what we were about to witness came from just a clashing of rival gangs or if it was closer to home. As we got to the scene, we both gasped. It was awful. There was blood everywhere, the odd body part, there were barely any survivors. But my heart rate slowed slightly realising I didn't recognise any of the men. Me and Zoe split up, me aiding a man who was covered head to toe in blood. When he saw me, he froze and looked dead into my eye's. "It's...you." He said, holding up a bloodied picture, with my face on it. It looked like it had been shot without my knowing. I was being watched. This whole time. How did I not notice? How could I have been so careless? I shook any and all thoughts out of my mind as I attempted to stop the bleeding, struggling to locate its source as there was just so much. He struggled against me, trying to push me off him. "It's all your fault, all your fault." He kept repeating, pushing and shoving me, any attempt to get away. He shoved a note into my shirt pocket, "see...you in...hell" he spat out, now choking on his own blood. He lost consciousness and I began CPR but couldn't get him back. I fell back on my hands, sitting down and wiping the sweat from my forehead with my arm. I was covered in blood. His blood. Accepting that id lost him, I went over and aided as many others as I could. Multiple RA units turned up, and the survivors got sent to hospital.
