After the little encounter with the IMC soldiers, I decided to find an area to restock on everything, guns, ammo, heck even grenades. I like explosions. At this point I might as well as be a war criminal. As spoke on the PA again. Boring. "So, pilot. I think it's time you become a part of my little experiment." A platform appears with a fully built house, made of metal of course. "Now step onto that platform. It will take you to the designated area where the simulation will take place. Let's put your skills to the test." She stops talking, looks like I have no choice if I want to get out of here. "Cooper, I have restored our comms signal. We can now maintain communication again." Now that's a voice I've actually been waiting to hear. "BT, we're never taking shortcuts again, understood?" "Copy that, pilot." The platform begun to move, a little bit too quick but I can manage. "BT, can you get a track on my location? I have a bad feeling about this, or are you still being held by that mechanical arm?" I questioned BT, almost falling off the platform. "Negative, pilot. I am unable to grab a hold of your current location. And yes, I am currently still in grasp of this arm. Attempt number 405, breaking free. Status: failure." Looks like he won't be any help as of right now. After a few more minutes, I arrived. A whole row of different roads and buildings. Oh hey they're moving...WAIT THEY'RE MOVING?
I jump onto one of the roads, and it raises up, looks like ash has made a whole homestead for a simulation. It takes a while for the whole area to assemble into a whole, but it comes into a small town, platforms rose from the ground, barriers rising, the wall opened, 3 militia riflemen emerged from it, "look, a pilot! Now the odds are in our favour." Looks like I will have some help. "Welcome, pilot. This is my little experiment. Those 3 riflemen are just a minor inconvenience. Survive these 3 waves of soldiers I am sending in. Last to the final wave and you will face the final encounter. I will love seeing you all suffer." Ash then stops talking, the opposite wall opens, and IMC soldiers and some spectres run out. "Okay. Maintain formation. Keep eyes forward. Stay focused. Keep together and no splitting off. We should be good." I say this to the 3 militia soldiers, they all nod and agree, we stick together and survive the first wave. "Congratulations pilot, you survived the first wave. This next one won't be as easy. You'll see that for yourself." The wall opens again, more spectres, and a shit load of em. "What's the plan this time?" One of the soldiers asked me, I reply with the basic "just try to survive. Take cover when necessary" and after this the spectres open fire, "okay now that's not fair. how's this for a SHOCK!" I throw an EMP grenade, shutting down some of the spectre's systems, taking down some more with my gun, this was easier than I thought. We survived the wave of spectres. Ash spoke up a good minute or two later "it seems I have underestimated you, pilot. You've kept your team alive and survived an onslaught of spectres."
A cylinder emerges from the ground. "This time, you will not survive. Ash out." She cuts off the PA, the cylinder opens, and out emerges a reaper. "That's not good" the 3 riflemen scattered to take cover, I stood facing it down. "Cooper, you do not have the right firepower to take down that reaper. I advise you find a weapon that can counter it." BT stated on the comms, while I still faced down the reaper. "I hear ya. I got a visual on a weapon crate with an RPG. Let's do this" the reaper starts to attack, killing one of the riflemen, it focuses me, as I distract it, "yeah over here ya old piece of scrap! Look at what I got!" I take the rocket launcher from the weapon crate, "how about you face something your own type?" I fire a rocket towards it, damaging the reaper severely. Critical shot! Oh that pissed it off, the reaper jumps towards me, but I roll out of the way and reload the rocket launcher, just in time for the reaper to strike again, I fire another rocket, exploding it on the spot. I survived.
"It looks like your skills are much reliable. Let's see how you put them to the test when you face me. And I assure you. You. Will not. Survive." Ash disappears from the PA for a while, I leave the homestead through a broken wall, going further through the facility. Time to find BT and get out of this place.
