𝐑𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧The first line has me craving my next, and before I know it, I'm already arranging the white powder into a thick line on her desk.
I should feel like shit for doing this, especially in her room of all places, but it's hard to feel anything but yearning for the short term ecstasy the drug is supplying me.
Logical? No. Pathetic? Yes.
Just as I'm leaning myself over, holding the rolled up dollar bill between my thumb and index finger, I hear the sound of a door opening, causing me to stand up straight."Rafe?" I hear a soft, angelic sounding voice speak, my eyes widening in response.
It's Amelia, shit. Of course it's her. It just had to be her, walking in right before I'm about to get my fix.
"Shit. What are you doing up here?" I ask her, my heart feeling as if it's about to pound out of my chest.
For a moment, I wonder if that's the coke causing this, or her.
I stare at her like a deer caught in headlights, my eyes flickering at the line sat on her desk, then back at her. My right hand moving behind me to hastily shove the dollar bill in the back pocket of my jeans.
"It's my bedroom" I watch those pretty eyes narrow at me, making me swallow down, my mouth growing dry.
"My bedroom that you're doing coke in" she continues, her addictive yet angry sounding voice sending the hairs on the back of my neck to stand, the blood rushing to my face, causing my ears to prickle hot.
"Look, the bathroom was taken. This was the only room with nobody inside" I run a sweaty hand through my hair, a pang of guilt hitting my chest.
An emotion I've not been familiar with for a while.
"Couldn't you wait five minutes? Why the hell did you have to do it in here?!" She snaps at me, causing my eyes to widen, her raised voice sending me into a panic that someone will hear us.
"Will you keep your voice down?!" I snap back at her, clenching my jaw in frustration.
"Yep. Just take cocaine in my room. sure" she's sneering at me, her tone nothing but sarcastic. I watch as she storms past me, an involuntary groan escaping my lips.
Before I know what I'm doing, my hand is reaching out to grasp her wrist, her soft skin sending my body into a haze.
The look of surprise on my face has me quickly dropping her wrist from my grip, feeling that maybe I've overstepped.
I hesitate before speaking, the last thing I'm wanting to do is have to explain myself, especially to her.
"I'm sorry okay? I just needed a break from everyone down there" I say through a sigh, chewing the side of my cheek.
