Acknowledgement. Healing. Possibility. |
Flashback: The sky is falling. |
The silent observers fail to side-step in time |
As a result: 3 lives are lost in the aftermath. |
But...it's not the sky: it's us. |
Our limbs flailing towards it. What we could've had, |
Plus the years we spent afterward. Crumbling. Fighting our hardest to move forward...And FAILING. |
Desperately wishing we had in us whatever ephemeral thing that possessed us on THAT day. |
Perspective: Not only does the prayer fall upon deaf ears - |
Father, Son, Holy spirit, Imago Dei - Reject the plea in unison. |
"Stop...please!" It...is not ever enough. |
I, you, were not ever GOING to be |
And THEN: I realized. |
Love was not an emotion. |
Love...is an emotional AMPLIFIER. |
The tears at the wedding/on the night they cheat? |
They are ALL the SAME. |
The only difference? Is Joy, and Betrayal. |
How far you've slid the knife, or garter belt. |
The castle is on fire. |
We shall extinguish with gasoline |
With Gaslighting, with new matches |
Screaming, Shouting, Howling argument. |
Your breasts? Flush with the breath I'll use to beg back your hands, but antagonize your spirit. |
Perspective: FAILS! |
Your throat compels my hands: my nose & your elbow connect like closest friends |
Nobody asked or expected it, but ALL our limbs are dancing |
Salsa, Bachata, Meringue... |
Our feet failed to find a rhythm till' THAT day. |
Being taught to lead who you've led never sat right with my soul. |
