He'd waited so long for this opportunity. To forge his weapon. He could feel the endings of the hairs on his skin alight with excitement as he'd complete the symbol against her forehead with his thumb and forefinger. The Nazaryn order had patiently bided their time centuries in order to claim the authority they were owed in the beginning: the power that had been denied to them, and unexplainably poured into the palms of others.
They'd never intended to become quiet agents of chaos; they'd never even intended the initiation of the Nyxraithian Genocide. 440 years since the Travellers had went missing, and it was now time to seize what was rightfully theirs.
The treachery, wickedness, and treason of Nexara and Xaltaria were not their burden to bear, nor blame to accept. The second the Royal Families begun bouncing the possessors of the Traveller's capabilities back and forth amongst one another between each generation: they'd assigned the Nazar - the order of the Evil Eye - those most enlightened of Nyxraithians, attuned to spirituality, nature, and peace, with the capability to view evil in any person the power to manipulate genetic patterning. Blessed with ability by the Triumvirate themselves: The Nazaryn Order - a sect of prolific and gifted spiritualists and mediums with particularly potent pathways of connection with the anatomy of nature's organic beings were honored with the profession of reassigning the genetic make-up of each newly birthed traveller.
Since the line of prevailing mothers had become singular: both The Mother Particle and The Catalyst were birthed into the same line of genetics, and to avoid inbreeding amongst the children: they were converted by the order at birth into either a Nexarian, Xaltarian, or Nyxraithian line, and gifted with phenotypic origins differing vastly from their brothers or sisters.
When the mother particle & catalyst come together a prime particle would be formed and nurtured within the embryo. At that time: a sacred rite is to be performed by the Nazaryn order that manipulates the fetus to be genetically dissected from it's parent's original genomic codes, but kept similarly enough that they still look like they belong to their parent's bloodlines. This ritual was sanctioned to keep the matrilenial line from being tainted, as the mother particle and catalyst were, on Chaonides, traditionally raised within the same household, and are promised to one another at birth. This sacred rite of Genome-splitting would commonly become known as "The Fracturing": a process which prevents all possibility of genetic identicality, inbreeding, or potential for deformity within the newborn fetus.
However, as with all things: inequality — particularly in access to power -- breeds war, and a hunger to fight to maintain dominance and control over one's desperate grasp upon it.
Slowly, but surely, the Nazaryn order became despised by Chaonidian citizens, viewing The Fracturing as a political event, making multi-partisan the 3 races themselves in a constant combative frame, attempting to outdo the other however they could in order to gain access to the best of the economy for their own people. Once the blood-pact was signed that would draw The Mother Particle and The Catalyst into a singular racial line: the Xaltarians immediately made quick work of threatening the people of the Nazaryn order with physical violence in order to "encourage" the next set of Travellers wound up into one of their bloodlines, and as a race of superior military might: the Nyxraithian people stood no chance in ceding their demands, electing to acquiesce lest their families be eradicated.
The political instability that came about as a result of the Nazaryn Order being incapable of using their universal respect garnered by assignment of power by the Triumvirate themselves as anchor for their authority over The Fracturing would lead to a power vacuum. During the infighting for political supremacy amid the instability: The Nazaryn, who were still in charge of who became Travellers due to their capability of determining which race the Travellers would be concocted a plan to silo every future Traveller into their own Nyxraithian bloodline and generate a dictatorship whereby they would be in ultimate power, or at the very least: operating in advisorship to the Travellers who were. The current Travellers of that epoch, however, were too clever and devised a coup d'etat of their own.
