Queen Elsa of Arendelle sat quietly in her private chambers, sunlight streaming through the large arched windows.

A slight winter chill filled the air, though the snow outside sparkled brightly under the mid-morning sun. It was a perfect day in Arendelle, a kingdom that thrived even in the coldest months.

Elsa's hand rested lightly on her belly, now noticeably swollen from her pregnancy with her and Kristoff's first child. She still couldn't believe how far she had come. It felt like just yesterday when she had told Kristoff the news that they were expecting. The joy and excitement that followed had been overwhelming, and Kristoff's reaction had been everything she could have hoped for—tears of happiness, a tight embrace, and promises of a future filled with love and adventures as parents.

Now, almost four months along, today was the day they would find out the gender of their baby.

Elsa had always been calm and composed as queen, but this morning she felt butterflies in her stomach that had nothing to do with the baby or her royal duties. In a few short hours, she would know if she and Kristoff were having a little prince or princess, and the anticipation was almost too much to handle. Her powers even flickered a bit in response to her emotions, and a few snowflakes floated lazily through the room before dissolving into the air. There were three curt knocks at the door, breaking her from her thoughts. The door creaked open to reveal Anna, her sister, who was practically bouncing with excitement.

"Elsa! Are you ready? Today's the big day!" Anna chirped as she practically flew into the room, her auburn hair bouncing with her energy.

Elsa couldn't help but smile.

"I am. I'm nervous, but I'm ready."

Anna grinned and wrapped her arms around Elsa in a warm hug.

"You're going to find out if I'm going to have a niece or nephew! I can't believe it! I'm so excited I could burst!"

"Not as excited as Kristoff is," Elsa chuckled.

"I swear, he's been counting down the days."

As if on cue, Kristoff appeared in the doorway, slightly out of breath. Sven, his loyal reindeer, was nowhere in sight, probably outside grazing in the snow. His broad grin made his emotions clear—he was just as eager for this day as Elsa was.

"Sorry I'm late!" he said, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.

"I had to make sure Sven was settled before we leave. Are you ready to go?"

Elsa nodded, a hint of nervousness still swirling inside her.

"I think so."

Kristoff stepped forward and took Elsa's hand in his, squeezing it gently.

"Hey, no matter what we find out, this baby is going to be perfect. I can't wait to meet him or her." he reassured, as if sensing her nervousness.

Elsa's heart swelled with love for Kristoff. His steady support had been a source of strength throughout her pregnancy, and she knew he would make an incredible father. She leaned into him, grateful for his presence.

"Let's go then!" she said softly.

And with that, they took their leave.

The journey to the healer's quarters wasn't far. Unlike modern kingdoms, Arendelle didn't have a traditional hospital, but they had highly skilled healers who could perform many of the same tasks.

Elsa and Kristoff had arranged for the best healer in the kingdom, one who had been trained in the latest techniques of pregnancy care, including ultrasounds.
