The Elemental Recuse

Prologue (Noel Abbott)

Noel's POV

It has been two weeks since Owen enrolled at the Elemental Training School, and we were missing him badly. But we knew Serafina chose my older brother to be the current Elemental Master of Fire and he had to start his training in Cardiff, Wales. When he arrived, he told us he was immediately given his own room at the school and was awaiting the Elemental Masters of Undead and Psychic to enroll. I smiled as I knew it was only a matter of time before his training started. Right now, me, Mom and Dad are on a trip in the mountains outside of Denver, Colorado. As we hiked up the mountains, I kept thinking about how Owen would do as the Elemental Master of Fire. Would he use his newly found powers to stop the forces of evil? Would he use them to help roast food? However, my thoughts were cut short as I found myself at the bottom of Dad's shoes.

Noel: "Hey! What's the holdup?"

Bronson: "Sorry, Noel, but there's something you have to see on this ledge!"

Curious to see what Mom and Dad were looking at, I pulled myself onto the ledge and what I saw made my jaw hit the ground. There was a huge cave with a temple inside of it with a bunch of ghost and skull symbols all over it.

Julia: "Could this be the Temple of Undead? I mean me and Owen did find the Temple of Fire just weeks ago."

Bronson: "I think it could be, but let's check it out to be sure."

As we entered the temple, the torches were lit to a ghastly blue colour and a bunch of fog emerged. We were undoubtedly within the Temple of Undead and it was very spooky in here. Just as we were going to leave, however, we heard a voice.

?: "Now where you might be going?"

As we looked behind us, there was a ghastly blue orb flying right toward us, but it stopped within a few feet of us. As we looked at the orb, Mom spoke first.

Julia: "Let me guess, you are Achlys, the Elemental God of Undead?"

Achlys: "That's right, and I need a new host to possess my powers. And the young boy with white hair seems to be the perfect choice."

Bronson: "But before you do that to Noel, you gotta ask him first. When Julia and our other son Owen found the Temple of Fire a few weeks ago, Serafina claimed Owen as her new host without asking."

Achlys: "Ah, so this must be Owen's younger brother Noel then."

Noel: "That's me alright."

Achlys: "Now then, Noel, do you want to possess my powers so you can join your brother at the Elemental Training School in Cardiff, Wales?"

I then looked at Mom and Dad, and they nodded their heads. I looked back at Achlys and smiled.

Noel: "I accept, I'm ready to join my brother."

Achlys: "Ok then, Noel Abbott, GET READY TO USE THE POWERS OF THE UNDEAD!"

With that, Achlys entered my body and I instantly passed out from it, but I then knew I was on my way to the Elemental Training School in Cardiff, Wales to join my older brother Owen. When I woke up, I saw I was back in our hotel room with Mom and Dad looking at me.

Bronson: "OK, Noel, ready to join Owen in Cardiff?"

Noel: "I sure am."

Just then, my left hand glowed ghastly blue.

Achlys: "One thing first, Noel. Are you friends with a certain Katty Young?"

Noel: "Yes, she's Owen's best friend, why do you ask?"

Achlys: "Well, the Elemental God of Water, Darya, chose her to be the Elemental Master of Water and she's now at the Elemental Training School."

Julia: "What? Does Owen know she's there?"

Achlys: "I did telepathy talk to Serafina about that, and Owen doesn't know she's there since he's stuck in his dorm until the remaining Elemental Masters enroll at the school, and with Noel now enrolling in it, that means the Elemental Master of Psychic still needs to enroll."

Noel: "Wow, so once that Elemental Master enrolls, our training begins."

Achlys: "Yes, and Noel, you and the other Elemental Master need to work together if you want to go a long way."

Noel: "Don't worry, partner, I am ready to help Owen and the other Elemental Masters."

Now that I was the Elemental Master of Undead, I was on my way to Cardiff, Wales to join my older brother and Elemental Master of Fire, Owen in his training. I knew I have a long road ahead of me, but I'm ready for whatever they might throw at me.
