Chapter 5 ─ Hidden Underneath
Part 2 ─ Season 1 ─ Episode 3 ─ The Curse of the Dark Storm

━━━━━ ALORA WALKED THROUGH the doors of the house, to her surprise no one was in the house. She walked into the downstairs bathroom and grabbed supplies that she would need for the cut on her hand. After grabbing what she needed Alora walked out of the bathroom and headed into the kitchen. She removed the blood stained napkin from her hand and looked down at the cut. She was glad it wasn't too deep of a cut, otherwise she'd have to go get stitches.

Turning the faucet on she placed her hand under the cool water. Slowly and gently Alora removed the dried blood around the cut, she hoped that the reason she'd been cut hadn't been because of the curse. She hoped it was because she hadn't been paying attention, but she knew the odds were slim. Alora turned the water off and removed her hand from the sink. Alora dried her hand off and placed a clean bandage on it.

She heard the front door open, quickly as she could she wrapped the bandage with medical tape. Then she threw away what she had used and walked back towards the front of the house. Alora stopped by the steps looking to see Nancy and Karen who briefly looked back at her. Nick stood across from Nancy and it was clear they were in a heated conversation.

"Hi." Alora said, looking around at everyone.

"What offer is she talking about?" Nick asked. Alora looked at her sister as thunder rumbled outside.

"What the hell did I walk into?"

"They're gonna drop all criminal charges pending against me and Alora if we can help them make a case. Against you." Nancy explained.

"Well... that's a good deal." Nick chuckled soon walking past the Drew twins. "So that's why you've been digging into my past all day. Trying to save your own skin. Well, what'd you decide?" Nick asked her.

Nancy turned to look at Alora, who sent her a nod. She then looked at Karen who stared back at her waiting for Nancy to speak. "Your case hinges on the theory that Nick wanted revenge against Tiffany for testifying against him, that she was afraid of him, maybe even trying to buy him off with some sort of package in a car. I have no choice but to prove you wrong." Nancy said.

"Me too. I believe it was someone else and Nance and I will figure out who it was." Alora told her, standing by her sister's side.

"Your officers tossed all these books on the floor, but they didn't really look at them." Nancy opened the book and handed it over to Karen. "Read the inscription."

"'Forgiveness is the key to redemption. Please forgive me. Tiffany.'" Karen read out loud.

"He may have hated her once, but that was before they knew each other. Before they became friends. And Nick is not the type of person to ever hurt somebody he cares about." Karen looked away from the book and placed her eyes on Nick. "I can't explain to you the level of trust between them, but you managed to get a look at Nick's juvenile records. Check out the visitation logs. You'll see her name there every week. Yes, he took a life once, but Tiffany learned that he would never do it again." Nancy finished explaining to the woman and her sister.
