She was fire, hidden beneath layers of fear and fragility. And I was going to break her. Not because I wanted to hurt her, but because I wanted to own her.

Aurelia Fontaine wasn't just another pretty girl , i could have any woman I desired-but something about her ignited a hunger in me that I hadn't felt in years.

Watching her storm out of the living room after our "proposal" had almost made me smile. Almost.

Her defiance, that spark of rebellion in her eyes, only made the thought of dominating her even more satisfying.

The sooner she realized that she was mine, the sooner she'd submit. And when she did, she'd be exquisite-beautifully broken and utterly mine.

I took my time walking upstairs, savoring the power I had over her.

The little rabbit had run to her room, thinking a closed door would keep me away.

I opened it without knocking, stepping into her space like I belonged there.

She jumped at the sight of me, and the fear in her eyes sent a jolt of satisfaction through me.

Her defiance was admirable, but futile. It wouldn't take long before she surrendered, not with the world closing in on her. I was going to make sure of that.

"Aurelia," I called softly, stepping closer to her.

She was still sitting on the floor, her small body trembling as she tried to hold herself together. "I don't like repeating myself."

Her wide, terrified eyes met mine, and I could see the battle raging inside her-fear and anger, helplessness and resistance. She hated me. But I wasn't here to be loved.

I crouched down in front of her, my fingers tilting her chin up to meet my gaze. "Do you understand your situation now?"
I asked, my voice low and dangerous.

"I... I don't care," she whispered, her voice shaking. "I'll never be yours."

I laughed softly. "Oh, you will, Aurelia. You will."

Her breath hitched as I leaned in closer, my hand sliding to the back of her neck, gripping her gently but firmly.

She stiffened under my touch, her body instinctively pulling away, but I held her in place.

"You'll learn," I murmured against her ear, my voice dark and possessive. "Whether you want to or not."

I could feel her trembling beneath my hand, and it sent a surge of power through me.
