Some hours pass. Plenty of tears were shed off and on as it was early arvo and still no sign of bandit. Bluey decided to give Chloe's phone a ring. Of course there's no answer. It went straight to voicemail. By now, chilli got up off the couch. "Bluey, what do you say we prepare a snack while we wait? We should get our minds off of things." Chilli tried to be optimistic for the sanity of her daughter. Bluey wiped her tears as she had been crying a lot. "Okay, mum." She answered weakly, only breaking chillis heart more. They headed to the kitchen and chillin opened up the fridge. "Oh! How about some yogurt and berries?" Bluey nodded yes to her mother. Chilli got the Greek yogurt and berries out of the fridge. She washed the mixed berries while Bluey plopped some yogurt into two bowls. Chilli heard Bluey still sniffling. She was overwhelmed by worry over her husband and hurt. But she tried her best to keep both bluey and herself distracted. "Good job, bluey. Wanna do the honors?" Chilli held out the bowl of mixed berries. "All I did was plop some yogurt into bowls, but thanks?" That made chilli giggle, thus Bluey giggled. A silly, but lightened up moment shared between them was what they needed the most right now. Bluey put some mixed berries into their yogurt bowls with a tiny smile on her face. "Alright, let's have a seat at the table, shall we?" Chilli said, carrying both of their yogurt bowls to the table.

They ate their yogurt with not a whole lot of enjoyment. By now, a lot of the noisy chaos outside finally died down. There was still the occasional execution and screaming in the distance... but it was better than what it was.
"Mum?" "Yes, bluey?" Bluey hesitated to proceed with her question. "What if dad doesn't come back with Chloe and her family?" Chilli sighed softly. "I don't know. I genuinely don't have an answer for that. But there's still hope. And god forbid, if the worst really happened, I promise I'll protect you with everything Ive got. Because you're the last thing I want to lose, bluey." Chilli held her face in paws, elbows resting against the table. They sat in silence for a moment. "I love you, mum." "I love you too, my love." They finished their yogurt bowls after sitting in silence once again for a minute. After they cleaned up, they went back into the living room and played some board games to pass the time and distract themselves, even though they couldn't truly escape their negative thoughts and worry.

Before they knew it, hours passed and dinner time quickly rolled around. "Well, it's about time to eat again. Bandit was supposed to throw some steaks on the Barbie, but... I don't even think it's safe to be in our own backyard. How about we settle for some instant ramen? Simple. Grilling was never my expertise anyways." Bluey perked up at the thought of eating ramen. "Yeah, that actually sounds pretty good. Despite all the worry, I do still have an appetite." Chilli chuckled softly. "Good girl. I'll go make some right now." They ate their ramen in slightly more lifted spirits. The wonders of ramen, huh?

And before they knew it.. it was bed time. It was late and there was no sense in staying up. "Mum, is it alright if I sleep in your bed?" "Of course, honey!" Chilli felt it was safer to sleep close together anyways. Teenage bluey or not, she'd never be too old to sleep in mum and dad's bed.
Bluey brought her pillow and blanket to her parents room after she showered and brushed her teeth. Her and her mum got in bed and.. it didn't feel right. Bluey layed on bandits side of the bed. It felt so wrong that he was absent. And by this point, both blue and chilli really missed bandit and worried about him. And Chloe. Were there tears left to cry in the moment? Not really. Was there worry and anxiety to spare in the moment? Plenty. "Could you hold me?.." Bluey asked, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Of course." Chilli scooted over and snuggled up to Bluey, holding her comfortingly.

9:08 A.M. Morning rolled around rather quickly. Bluey woke up to her mum still holding her as she slept. Bluey carefully wiggled out of her grip. She walked downstairs knowing damn well her father wasn't home yet. "Dad? Are you here?" She called out. No answer. She knew the worst had come to pass. "It's all my fault. I've lost my friend and my dad." Bluey repeatedly hit herself in the head. "Ugh! I'm such a dumbass!" She raised her voice angrily. "I hate myse-" Bluey was cut off by a knock on the door. Blueys ears perked up because it must've been her father. Somehow Bluey shouting didn't wake up chilli, but the knocking did. Chilli rushed downstairs as Bluey was turning the knob. Lo and behold, it was bandit. And two of those "children of the sun" minions holding him with his arms tied around his back and and a tight muzzle on him. "DAD!"bluey exclaimed. "LET. MY. HUSBAND. GO." Chilli threatened.
"Hmm... No." the child of the sun smirked menacingly. Bandit wriggled and whimpered, unable to really speak with the muzzle on him. "I'm sorry, I love you-" bandit tried to say, though he was extremely muffled. But decipherable. As muffled as his "words" were, his eyes said it all. Before chilli or bluey could even further react, bandit took a spiked bat to the back of his head. Bluey dropped to her knees, tears immediately flooding her eyes. "YOU SONS OF BI-" before chilli could finish her sentence, the solis minions quickly restrained her. Muzzled and tied just as bandit was. Bluey tried kicking and biting but she couldn't stop them. "MUM! NO!" And of course... she also took a spiked bat to the back of her head. Blueys whole world shattered to pieces, but she knew it was too late and she couldn't do anything. She slammed the door and locked it before the children of the sun could do anything to her.
