((Imma try and whip this shit out in an hr bc I need a warmup and I love three idiots, it's shitty w no editing weird pacing lol))
Ophelia breathed out as she leaned against a tree, letting pink waves fall over her shoulders as she lowered her hood. It was hot and she cursed as she wiped away a bead of sweat.
"Ugh.." she groaned, stuffing an empty waterpouch back in her bag. "I should've taken the carriage."
She refused it initially, determined to take her time on the trip to Veniel. Although the trip over there was nice, who knew a sudden heatwave would take over the kingdom. Ophelia groaned as she continued her trek. It wasn't much farther now, and when she got there a nice cold soak lulled to her.
She smiled thinking about it. She would walk in to the castle guard greeting (if Raizel didn't beat them to it), a nice hearty meal from Ms.Eowyn, a nice cold bath, and the silkiest of pajamas. Then right after, a sleep so deep they'd have to ring the bells of war to get her to stir.
Her dreams of leisure died with a familiar voice. She perked her head up, unsure if it was her imagination or not.
"Will you just eat the stupid plant?!"
Ophelia turned her head toward a tree line.
"Raizel?"
Maybe it's just someone that sounds like him?
"I swear to the gods I will shove it down your throat!"
Nope.
That's Raizel.
Ophelia smiled, walking through the tree line, figuring he'd caught a bounty by the tone of voice.
She shuffled through the bushes, hand resting on a tree as she finally caught sight of him. Then her blood ran cold.
A giant beast stood in front of Raizel, teeth turned to a snarl as it lowly growled at him. Its eyes were narrow, green fur bristled, huge claws dug into the ground, sharp teeth ready to lunge any second. Ophelia's hands felt hot. Breathing quick. She had to be quick. She had to be quick. Don't move. It'll go away. Move. It's going to kill him. It's going to kill me. Move. Move. Move.
The wolf all but twitched before she ran.
Towards it.
It's not getting her brother too.
Ophelia screamed out desperately as she ran, a bright flame barely missing both Raizel and the wolf. The two parted, both stumbling opposite sides of eachother.
Ophelia didn't let up. She ran between the two, her mind still frantic and wild. She sent another gust of flames, burning brighter than before. The wolf's eyes widen as it ducked. The wolf looked from Ophelia to Raizel.
No. Not getting him. You're not getting him.
"Ophelia!" Raizels voice called to her, causing her to turn for only a second.
A heavy force hit her back, causing her to fall over. The wolf trampled over her, surprisingly not stepping on her. Ophelia picked up her head and through blurry visions she could see the wolf running. Right to Raizel.
"No.." Ophelia grit her teeth. Fire began to burn the grass under her palms. "Leave him alone.."
Raizel looked up at the wolf, than to her. Her heart dropped. Images of those damn wolves and her family began to flash. No. No. No.
"LEAVE HIM ALONE." She swung her arm forward, a giant ember pelting straight for the wolf. The wolf jumped forward onto Raizel, the ember flying straight over it onto the tree line.
