"Her highness was invited to a private tea party with Madame Chandler" Cordelia announced like it was something to celebrate about. Indeed I had not told her about the true outcome of the tea party, I just summarised and painted it off as one of the nicest tea parties I had been to. Now she was excited to announce to the rest of the gossip mongers that I had met with Eloise Chandler exclusively, no doubt she was feeling a lot more important by association since she was the one who got me dressed for it after all.

Talia gasped excitedly, "Really!?" Her gaze snapped to mine, a megawatt smile on her lips.

"You must have had the best time Your Grace, tell us all about it please! We would like to know how big her drawing room was, how many cakes were served, how the lady's maids dressed" Dorothy prodded and I adjusted uncomfortably, trying my best to hide the dread written all over my face. I swallowed the lump of emotions that lodged in my throat, struggling to keep my lips from quivering. I wanted to forget the whole thing, to never think of it again but I guess I was not so lucky.

"It was all really b-beautiful but forgive me for I cannot say too much"

Their faces dropped in disappointment and I bit my lip, feeling guilty.

Cordelia picked up her tea cup, "Do not be too hungry for gossip ladies, it is expected for her Majesty to want to keep some details from their very private meeting to herself. You must all understand what that means, like us all here do not disclose our conversations to anyone, not even our husbands or soon to be husbands" she directed a cheeky smile by way and heat covered my cheeks. I was grateful she was covering for me, "Some matters deserve the utmost  confidentiality"

Dorothy was the first to speak in support, "I understand"

I sighed inwardly, thankful they didn't press further because I would have probably started crying like a baby.

"Anyway, focusing on more important things- like the grand Royal wedding that is coming up in three days!" Dorothy squealed, her lips stretching into a wide smile. She looked happier than I was at the moment.

"I can't believe you will be leaving us in two days!" Marchioness Cordelia cried, even going as far as to wipe away a lone tear from her face and swaying her fan to dry up more incoming tears. "Sorry, pollen makes my allergies act up" she giggled half heartedly, tears stinging her eyes.

I smiled sympathetically, resting a comforting hand on her shoulder, "I know, I can't believe it either. It's been the best spending the months with you all" I looked at the women in front of me and only then did I realise Demeter was not among them. "Did Demeter not wish to come?"

Cordelia furrowed her brows and glanced at the empty seat Demeter usually occupied, "I haven't heard from her in a while Your Grace. Maybe something came up?"

"Yes, I hear her husband said they had to go visit his sick parents" Talia spoke up and we all nodded in understanding

"The Royal wedding is going to be the grandest event of the century, every aristocrat will be there. It will be the first ever wedding of such a Royal kind"

"Indeed Talia, it will be the talk of the Empire for generations and I am so thankful to be attending!" Dorothy snickers and Cordelia pokes her arm with the tip of her hand fan.

"Wait, you all will be there?" I asked, looking between them all. The ride from the Capital back to the castle would be a day's journey at least.
