what's going on? - erik

a/n: i am not entirely sure if this is how the brother's arrests actually happened as i did not educate myself too much on these events before writing this but if any changes in this chapter need to be made, please let me know in the comments and i will try my best to make them happen! but this is a short n' not so sweet imagine so enjoy!

it was late at night when y/n heard the sound of police sirens from down her street. she has been laying in her bed, trying to fall asleep before she had to wake up for school in the morning but she was interrupted by the noise. curiously, she got up from her bed and walked to her window. she looked out and realized she couldn't she much so she decided to instead, go outside to investigate.

walking out her front door, the sirens got louder now that she was outside. walking to the end of her driveway and looking down the street, she sees tons of police cars parked outside of a house in her neighborhood. watching in confusion, she recognizes the house as her boyfriend erik menendez's home.

"oh no." she thought. 

she began to run down the dimly lit street all the way to the house, hoping and praying that erik and lyle were okay. she reaches their driveway and sees the boys on the ground, at the base of the front steps leading up to the doorway with their hands behind their heads as a few officers pointed guns at them and a couple more went to detain lyle and erik.

"erik?!" y/n yells over the commotion, immediately grabbing his attention as an officer began to handcuff him. 

when erik lifted his head to look at her, she saw that he had been crying. the sight broke her heart in two as she noticed how distraught he looked and it didn't help that she had no idea what was happening. 

she pushed through the mob of police officers and found her way to erik. 

"y/n? baby, i'm sorry. i'm so sorry." he started to sob again and she felt her yees fill up with unshed tears. 

"erik, what's going on?" she asked in confusion through her tears which started to fall. 

she was able to get one last kiss before she was pulled away by the other officers to which she began to fight against their hold. 

"i'm sorry y/n! i love you." he says.

"i love you to- wait stop! he didn't do anything! let me go!" she screams, making final eye contact with erik before he was shoved into a police car and driven off. 

y/n stayed in the driveway of the menendez home until sunrise, knowing that if she had went home, she would've have fallen asleep anyway and not knowing what was going on with her boyfriend and his brother was killing her. eventually, she left and headed home, just to get ready to go to the police station to get any information she could about the events that took place the night before.
