Draco Malfoy was walking down the corridor of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. He was on his way to see his friends, Blaise Zabini, Crabbe, Goyle, Theodore Nott and Pansy Parkinson. As soon as he joined them, a girl walked past. Draco had seen her before, but never talked to her. "Hey" she smiled. And before Draco could answer, she had walked off. He would never forget that smile, it was beautiful.

"Hey guys" swaggered Draco.

"Hi Draco" they all said, slightly out of tune.

They talked for a while before each separated to do their own thing. Blaise went to his room to write a letter to his mother, then take it to the owlery, then wait for a reply. Crabbe and Goyle both went to stuff their faces with sweets they had gotten from Honeydukes at Hogsmeade. Pansy had went to the library to study for their exam next week.

Draco didn't know what to do. It was a Saturday, which meant no lessons. He just decided to wonder of to the Slytherin common room and ask someone to play chess. When he got there, he realised that he had forgotten the password. He waited for a Slytherin to come by and go in, but none came. After waiting for 20 minutes, a girl with curly light blonde hair walked near him. He blushed as he realised that it was the girl he had saw earlier.

"Ummm, hi! You couldn't help me, could you? I've forgotten the password and I can't get in" mumbled Draco embarrassingly.

The girl stood awhile and then burst into laughter. She knew who he was, the boy she said hi to earlier. She noticed that he started blushing, then stopped. She gave him a smile which was even more beautiful than before.

"Sorry. It's fibbery fudgers" she exclaimed.

"Thanks. Wanna play wizard chess? I haven't got anyone to play with right now, I was ditched" sighed Draco.

She nodded and whispered the password. They both climbed in, then sat at a table near the fire. Draco quickly made his way up to his room to grab the chess set, being careful not to break any pieces. He placed it on the table, and they both started setting up. The girl played the white pieces and Draco played the black.

"Damnitt" shouted Draco as her queen knocked down his king.

"Maybe next time, Draco" she smirked.
