Over Ellie's house, the storm passed. The sunset hit the windows, making everything look pink. Bella, who was sat beside Ellie, watched her friend sleep. Coco sat on the floor, her head bowed. She missed Phoenix. Usually, the two dogs would curl up and snooze. She felt lost. Bella petted her dog's head, knowing how she felt.

"We need to do something about it," she thought as Coco lay down. "But what?"

Ellie woke up  to find that Bella and Coco were still there. She smiled slightly as Bella hugged her.

"Better now?" She asked as Ellie stretched her back.

The girl shrugged but nodded at the same time.

"Don't worry," said Bella, knowing what Ellie really thought. "We will find Phoenix! Even if it takes months!"

Coco whimpered and pawed at Ellie. She petted the dog feeling somewhat comforted. But she wanted her Phoenix back.

"Let's do something to start searching for her," Ellie suggested. "But what?"

Bella got out her phone.

"Put it out on Social Media?" She suggested. "I will do that. I will even get Kate to do it, too!"

Ellie nodded. But suddenly heard her phone ringing! She put her hand in her pocket and squinted at the screen. She made the letters large on her phone so she could read it. She also used Voiceover whenever her remaining eye hurt her.

"It's Kate," she said. "Hello?"

"Hello, Ellie," Kate's voice came over the phone. "Is things okay?"

"Nixie's been dognapped," said Ellie. "Bella had to take me home."

"I saw your dad drag her off!" Kate sounded angry. "He looked like he was going to strangle her."

"Hope not!" Bella sighed. "Come to think about it, didn't you have a pet dog before Nixie? A German shepherd?"

"Oh, yes!" Ellie said. "I miss that dog, too!"

"That man took him, too!" Bella recalled. "What does that man have with dogs? Hope nothing bad!"

Ellie sighed.

"We will put up about Nixie's missing story," said Bella. "Even you, Kate!"

"Sure thing," said Kate. "Better get that started!"

"See you later," said Ellie.

Then they hung up. Bella hugged Ellie.

"Told you things will be okay!" She said.

"I know!" Ellie smiled.

Bella started to put posts on Social Media about Phoenix. So did Kate! Soon, messages popped up, sending good wishes to Ellie. But nothing would cheer her fully up.

Back in the cage, Phoenix finished her chunk of chicken. She lay down as Jinx turned to leave her.

"Jinx," she said suddenly.

Jinx stopped and turned back to her.

"Yeah, Nixie?" He questioned.

"There aren't other dogs here?" Phoenix sounded anxious. "Like mean dogs?"

Jinx was about to reply when a dark shadow hit him. Then low growls hit their ears. Jinx backed up a bit and started shaking as a large black dog came into view. It had nothing wrong with it apart from a stench of breath that Phoenix smelt. It made her gag and back up in the cage.

"What are you doing here?" The new-comer growled at Jinx. "You know you shouldn't be here. You should be guarding. That's what Master's ordered you to do."
