The sun was beginning to set, casting it's pristine orange glows over the green fields were Timothy and his friends celebrated a football victory. The team cheered loudly, hailing Somto on his winning goal . It was indeed a phenomenal kick, one that took the team by surprise and ignited a deafening roar from the players and even the observers of the match. After being tied with the opposing team for so long, Somto was able to take the window of opportunity to score, nulling the need of a penalty kick as most people predicted would take place to get a winner.
After the celebration died down and the chants and cheers were no longer to be heard. The team huddled together for a brief meeting while Timothy sat on the bleachers, waiting for the man of the match which happened to be his best friend. His heart swelled with innate pride for Somto, his ride or die nigga.
As much as the goal lifted his moods as promised, there were still worries and doubts that lingered in his mind, which he mentally blocked, to properly immerse himself in the moment. When their meeting finally came to an end and the team broke out of the tight huddle, Somto scanned the bleachers, once his eyes spotted Timothy he waved at him hysterically, sweat and happiness evident on his face. Dopamine still pumped through his veins, his face was red from smiling too much.Timothy came down from the bleachers, this time he was the one running to meet his friend. He ambushed Somto with a back breaking bro hug and a few heavy pats on his back, intentionally causing pain to give his own congratulations.
Somto smiled through the pain, but the moment Timothy let go of him, he rubbed his sore back.
"Yeah thanks for attempting to kill me, after scoring one of the biggest goals of the century." He said humorously.Timothy laughed in his usual obnoxious manner.
"I can see that your head has gotten too big. Bro let's go and celebrate somewhere."Somto hissed. "Celebrate where? You know I'm still broke right?" He deadpanned.
"I gat you fam. We'll just cook up something when we get home."
As they both began their journey back home, a girl approached them, her presence immediately caused a discomfort for the two guys, that even Somto had to shift his eyes elsewhere and Timothy's face contorted to a mean scowl.
The girl pretended not to notice their welcoming demeanour, and quietly walked between the both of them, like a persistent puppy.
Eniola was the popular girl in the estate, daughter to wealthy parents and younger sister to one of the most problematic guys in the estate, a walking Tyrant, you could as well call him a mini gang leader, Kolawole or Cool-A as he was popularly known as.
Cool-A took over protective older brother up a notch, and was known to ambush, harass or maul any guy he suspects was flirting with his sister. As long as the guy was seen within a 3 meter radius around her, and even worse conversed with her! The unfortunate guy was going to be marked a next target.
And Eniola, aware of her brother's protective tyranny, still lured unsuspecting boys to their possible doom, you couldn't really blame them for being attracted in the first place, she was quite beautiful with ebony glass skin, thick lips, tiny eyes and had curves and flesh at the right places, thereby causing alot of guys to fall victims of Cool-A's menace.Timothy and Somto were well aware of the consequences of being anywhere near her, so they both pretended to be oblivious to her parents, taking stylish steps away from her, but persistently the girl followed them, until Somto nearly began to sprint for his life, Timothy held his arm firmly and decided to confront the tailing girl, even though he may be putting himself at risk, Cool-A and his gang of miscreants could be at any corner marking his next target.
"See, we don't want any trouble." Timothy turned back, telling her off in a very firm voice.
Eni rolled her eyes, like they were overreacting. "You guys should chill, we've lived in the same estate for eight years now and we've never even talked, I understand Somto doesn't live around here, but Timz now haba!" She attempted to touch Timothy's shoulder, but he quickly jolted away like her touch was poison.
