                       Vanya's POV

After lunch, we came to  Dherya's mansion to drop Alia there. The mansion is so beautiful from the outside and also very big.

"Vanya, please come inside," Alia invited me.

"Uhh, no Alia, I will come some other day. I have work," I said.

"Oh, come on! Work will always be there. Tum chalo mere saath andar. Main tumhe sabse milati hu. Come fast!" And she dragged me inside with her.

I am feeling so awkward and nervous.

As we entered the mansion, passing by the beautiful garden, I was struck by the stunning living room. I couldn't take my eyes off it. There were workers present, and I noticed two ladies and a gentleman, approximately 70-75 years old, sitting on the sofa.

"Badi Maa, Maa, Dadaji, look who's here!" Alia exclaimed excitedly.

The three of them looked at me with a hint of a smile on their faces.

"Who is she?" Dadaji asked.

"She's my friend," Alia replied.

"Oh, you guys are in the same class?" one of the ladies asked.

"No, no, I work in Dherya sir's office," I clarified.

"She works with me," Dherya said, approaching from behind, his hands tucked into his pockets. He looked stunning.

"Ohhh, so she works with you?" another lady asked Dherya, her tone playful and teasing.

My cheeks flushed hot and red.

"Come, beta, sit here," aunty said smiling at me. "I am Dherya's mother, she is his Chachi (aunt), Aloo's mother, and he is Dadaji (grandfather)."

I touched their feet and greeted them respectfully.

Then, his mom sat next to me. It was strange, but I felt like I was there to discuss marrying into the family.

What's your name beta, she asked while lovingly caressing my cheeks.

Vanya Mehra I replied while smiling.

Vanya such a nice name, his mother said and also she is very beautiful, Vanya you seriously look like an angel Chachi said and I feel like ahhhh how can I explain it's just like I am so happy like I am really happy.

We chatted for a while, and then I glanced at Dherya, only to find him gazing at me. I felt butterflies in my stomach.

"Aunty, I think I should leave now. It's already 4:30," I said.

"Vanya, please stay a bit longer," Alia pleaded, hugging me from behind.

"I'll come another day, Alia, but I really must go now," I insisted.

Alia pouted like a baby.

"I'll drop you home," Dherya offered.

"No, no, I'll go by myself. Please don't bother," I declined.

"Nahi beta, Dherya chor dega tumhe. Koi problem nahi hai, tum akele nahi jaogi," his mother reassured me.
(Don't worry, child, Dherya will drop you. There's no issue; you won't go alone).

"Haan, aati rehna, Jii, Aunty," I replied, bidding farewell.

As I stepped out of the mansion, Dherya opened the passenger door of his car
for me.

He settled into the driver's seat and began driving.

"My family really liked you a lot," he said, glancing at me.

"Yeah, I liked them too," I replied. "They made me feel like I'm part of the family."

"You are family," Dherya said, his eyes locking onto mine, piercing deep.

My heart skipped a beat. Butterflies swirled in my stomach, leaving me breathless.

As we approached my neighborhood, I suddenly felt anxious.

"Dherya, please drop me off at a distance from my house," I requested, looking around nervously.

"Why?" he asked, curiosity etched on his face.

"My parents... they might not understand if they see me with you," I explained, fidgeting with my hands.

Dherya's expression turned understanding he nodded. "Okay, I'll drop you off wherever you want."

Dherya slowed down near the corner of my street.

"Here's fine," I said, reaching for the door handle.

"Vanya?" Dherya called out softly.

I turned to him.

"Thanks for coming to my house today," he said, his eyes sparkling, I smiled in response.

Dherya's gaze lingered on mine for a moment before I stepped out of the car.

As I walked away, I felt his eyes on me until the car disappeared from view.

I stepped inside the house, finding my mom sitting in the living room. I hastily made my way to the kitchen, grabbing vegetables from the fridge to chop.

Just as I began, my mother's voice interrupted me.

"No need to make dinner today. Be ready by 6; we have to attend a party."

I nodded and headed to my room.

After a refreshing 15-minute shower, I wrapped a towel around my body and stood in front of the closet. Twenty minutes later, I emerged dressed in a stunning pink Anarkali suit.

I left my hair flowing freely and opted for minimal makeup, accentuating my natural features.

As I checked myself in the mirror, I felt confident and elegant.

Ready to head out, I made my way back downstairs.

We settled into the car and headed towards the venue

We settled into the car and headed towards the venue. Forty-five minutes later, we arrived. My dad parked, and we three stepped inside the hall.

As we mingled, I greeted some of my parents' friends. After a while, I excused myself and made my way to the bar.

"I'll have orange juice, please," I ordered.

Just as I was about to take a sip, my breath caught in my throat. My gaze locked onto a familiar figure across the room.

Dherya.
