The deafening sounds of fingers tapping keys, mutters and swears over long hours of research. Rosie's eyes burning a bright red like pools of blood and growing tense with each passing moment. The sun setting as the pair drives over deep puddles as the rain hits the windshield of Williams expensive convertible. Rosie gripping a paper in her hands, an address scribbled on it in blue ink. The sky a deep blue and lightning illuminated its mournful presence every so often.
"I've never heard of this place." Williams voice was tense and awkward, trying to make some sensible small talk despite the grim situation. Rosie just keeps to herself, one leg crossed over the other and her hands in her lap with a body expression which seemed closed off or irritated.
After 35 excruciating minutes the car stop out front of relatively large building, painted completely black and overgrown with plants and wreckage.
"This place seems suspicious" William said in a hush while his hand moved up towards the pistol at his side."It's empty." Rosie said with absolute certainty.
"How would you know?!- I'm not even gonna debate that actually." He decides not to question the words of the witch. Just stepping forward and pushing open the doors with a disturbing creek.
"What is this place?" Rosie's disturbed and confused voice rings from behind him. Her eyes examining the black marble floors and broken neon signs.
"Strip club" William reply's quickly.
"You got that so fast... wonder why" she mutters, the whole situation dampening her mood and causing more snide remarks then normal. This only serves to gain a small chuckle from the detective as he continues walking, looking over som old papers left on the front desk before pushing open a second set of doors.
William didn't even have time to comment and Rosie had little time to process the seconds between him pushing the door open and Williams choked gasps as he vomits onto the floor in front of him. Rosie stepped forward showing more confusion than genuine concern for him, she just watched him gag and clutch onto the side of the door. He finally stops and straightens up just a bit, wiping his mouth and chin with a tissue.
"Disgusting.." Rosie whispers while keeping a distance away from him.
"You wanna talk disgusting get over here." His tone turns much more serious and even hostile. As Rosie approaches she could begin to justify the man's disgusting reaction. The building had a strong smell of blood and rotting flesh. In front of the two was the body of an adult man, a bullet straight through its head and chest. The body rotting for long enough to smell extremely strong, mold growing up on the skin and maggots burrowing into its eyes and ears.Rosie had to hold back her own vomit at the sight of such a disgusting figure, her whole body shuddering over the thought of what that could even feel like. She moves out of the way as William takes a photo of the corpse for evidence and looking into on a later date. "I can't stand here let's keep walking." He irks in disgust as they walk deeper into the building.
"So what do you think that was about?" Rosie said, looking back at the body behind them.
"Unrelated to the case I assume, of course you can prove me wrong later if I'm incorrect but given this was the last place your sister was seen, and that was two years ago, a freshly killed corpse probably isn't related to it."Understandable." Rosie mutters, walking into the main room. Glass shattered over the dusty floors, lights and windows smashed and walls broken. The main stage mostly spotless. And the entire room drenched in dried blood and decomposed bodies, dried tissue and bones only left under the clothes of the victims. Left there for quite some time it appears.
"23, 24, 25, 26. Twenty six dead." William whispers to himself. Looking over the bodies as he walks around the room. "24 men and 2 women if clothes are anything to go by.." William tosses out to Rosie as he kneels down, measuring the corpses, the female ones to be specific.
"How tall it'd say your sister was?" He looks up at her from his hunched position, Rosie snapping out of her shocked trance. "Oh, uhh 5' I think the website said.."
Williams eyebrows furrowed as he rubs his jaw, his fingers brushing over the hair on his face. "We got a 5'4 and 5'6"
"Not her." He sighs in frustration as he checks out the room more, his eyes landing on one specific body.
"Well I'll be damned..." he smirks.
