Stepping into her small apartment based in the dead middle of busy New York City, she placed down the last of her boxes and let out a tied sigh. Grabbing a cigarette from her purse, and just gently waving it to light it, witch magic, am I right? She takes a long drag from the cigarette and lazily waving her hand, which causes her old brown couch to slam itself up on the wall into place.
She steps out onto the balcony and keeps smoking. Her deep red eyes illuminated from the moonlight above her, she flicks the cigarette off the balcony, probably hitting the head of some drunk man stumbling his way out of a bar.
She walks back over to her couch and sits down, opening her small laptop and quickly typing up an email. Her and that detective have been back and forth about there arrangement, but the consensus is them meeting at his office tomorrow at 4pm.
"I don't even know who this man is, let's just hope he knows what he's doing."
She leans back and sends the email, she looks to all the boxes and decides to get her ass up and start unpacking, or she'll regret it.
Sifting through her belongings she finds and old missing persons article for her sister. Her eyes narrow with frustration, her anger over the situation almost overwhelming the pain of it. Her eyes falling on the sweet little photo in the centre, a timeless photograph of her little sister, her cute pink hair and big black eyes and a happy smile spread on her face. Rosie sighed and placed it down back in the pile.
"Now's not the time to get emotional."
starting to unpack boxes sitting the the cramped living space. She hears some little tapping noises from behind her, like the little feet of some animal.
Finally, a hint of a smile could be detected on her pale face, turning around to see a small little gnome with a little jacket and hat on standing only to the height of her ankle."No matter where I go I can never seem to escape you, Gnome."
She smiles and the little gnome clings to her. She scoops the little thing into her arms like a child and continues with her unpacking.
"I didn't even remember I had half this shit till I was packing it up"
She laughed while grabbing some random things out of the boxes. Before placing a small plant on the windowsill, nothing to extravagant, it's not even a flower; but nevertheless, the gnome hops up on the windowsill and plops itself right next to the plant and watches it like it's the most important thing in the world.
"You never get tired of those boring things do ya?"
The gnome shakes it's head, and Rosie laughed
"Didn't think so. I've got a big day tomorrow, I've gotta make a good first impression! Everything must go perfectly. You are in control Rosie. You are in control. It will all go perfectly."
The gnome did not believe her.
