---After Beomgyu’s mom finished cooking, they gathered around the table. Beomgyu held newborn Iseul in his arms, her tiny body curled up against his chest as she slept soundly. He smiled down at her, feeling the rise and fall of her soft breaths.
“Dinner’s ready!” Beomgyu’s mom called from the kitchen.
Beomgyu looked over at Soobin, who had just finished setting the table. “Let’s eat before she wakes up,” Beomgyu whispered with a playful grin. “We have a small window of peace.”
Soobin chuckled, pulling out Beomgyu’s chair for him. “You’ve become quite the expert in timing with her naps.”
Beomgyu carefully adjusted Iseul in his arms, settling into his seat. “It’s all about survival at this point. She’ll wake up the second we start eating if we’re not careful.”
His mom laughed as she brought over the final dish. “You two have your hands full, huh? It’s hard to believe how small she is.”
Beomgyu looked down at Iseul, her little hand gripping the fabric of his shirt. “Yeah... she’s tiny, but she’s everything,” he murmured softly. “I still can’t believe she’s ours.”
Soobin sat next to him, reaching over to gently stroke Iseul’s head. “She’s perfect, Gyu. You’re doing an amazing job.”
Beomgyu blushed at the praise, then glanced at his mom. “I’m learning from the best.”
His mom smiled warmly, her eyes soft with pride. “You’ll be a great father, Beomgyu. You already are.”
As they ate, Beomgyu kept his eyes on Iseul, watching her sleep peacefully through the meal. Occasionally, Soobin would glance over, making sure Beomgyu was comfortable.
“How’s she been sleeping lately?” his mom asked, looking between the two of them.
Soobin sighed, a tired but amused smile on his face. “Let’s just say we’ve had some long nights.”
Beomgyu chuckled, shaking his head. “You mean no nights. She’s got her own schedule, and it’s not in sync with ours.”
His mom nodded knowingly. “That’s normal for newborns. Just make sure to rest when she does, even if it’s during the day.”
Beomgyu yawned, gently patting Iseul’s back. “Yeah, we’ve been trying. But it’s hard when she’s this cute. I just want to stay awake and watch her.”
Soobin laughed, rubbing Beomgyu’s arm. “And yet, every time I turn around, you’ve fallen asleep holding her.”
Beomgyu blushed, grinning. “Guilty. She’s just... so calming.”
After dinner, Beomgyu’s mom began cleaning up, but Beomgyu insisted on helping her. “Let me at least do the dishes,” he said, handing Iseul carefully over to Soobin.
“No, no, you sit down and rest,” his mom replied, waving him off. “You’ve got a lot on your plate with Iseul. Just enjoy these moments.”
Beomgyu sat back down, watching as Soobin gently rocked Iseul in his arms. “She looks so tiny in your arms,” Beomgyu said softly, his voice full of awe. “I still can’t get over it.”
Soobin looked down at Iseul, smiling tenderly. “She’s tiny but strong. Just like you.”
Beomgyu’s heart swelled at the compliment, his eyes shimmering with emotion. “We’ll take good care of her, Soobinnie. We’ll give her everything.”
Once it was time to leave, they both said their goodbyes. Beomgyu’s mom hugged him tightly, holding him close. “Take care of yourself, Beomgyu. And make sure to rest when you can.”
“I will, Mom. Thanks for everything,” Beomgyu whispered, hugging her back.
Turning to Soobin, she smiled warmly. “You too, Soobin. I know Beomgyu and Iseul are in good hands with you.”
Soobin nodded, smiling back. “I’ll do my best.”
As they drove home, Iseul remained fast asleep, swaddled in her blanket in Soobin’s arms. Beomgyu leaned his head against the window, watching the streetlights blur as they passed. “It was nice to visit, but I’m glad we’re heading home,” he murmured.
Soobin glanced at him, noticing the exhaustion in his voice. “Yeah, it was a good day. But Iseul needs her own bed, and you need some rest too, Gyu.”
Beomgyu nodded, his eyelids growing heavy. “I’ll rest once we’re home. For now, I just want to hold her.”
“Always the doting dad,” Soobin teased gently, adjusting Iseul in his arms. “But she’s mine for the rest of the ride.”
By the time they pulled into the driveway, Beomgyu had fallen asleep, leaning against the window. Soobin smiled softly, carefully stepping out of the car with Iseul in his arms. After placing her in her crib, Soobin returned to the car to find Beomgyu still fast asleep.
“Gyu, wake up,” Soobin whispered, gently shaking him. When Beomgyu didn’t stir, Soobin chuckled to himself. “Alright, guess I’ll have to carry you too.”
He opened the car door and carefully lifted Beomgyu into his arms, cradling him just as he had Iseul. Beomgyu murmured softly in his sleep, snuggling closer to Soobin’s chest. “Soobinnie...”
Soobin smiled fondly, carrying him inside and up to their shared room. As he laid Beomgyu down on the bed, Beomgyu stirred slightly, blinking up at him sleepily. “Soobinnie... did we make it home?”
Soobin sat beside him, brushing a strand of hair from Beomgyu’s face. “Yeah, we’re home. Iseul’s already asleep in her crib.”
Beomgyu smiled drowsily. “Good... thank you for taking care of us.”
Soobin leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to Beomgyu’s forehead. “Always, Gyu. You and Iseul mean everything to me.”
Beomgyu’s eyes fluttered shut again, a soft smile on his lips. “I love you, Soobinnie…”
“I love you too,” Soobin whispered, lying down beside him. “Now rest, my love.”
As Beomgyu drifted back to sleep, Soobin lay beside him, listening to the soft breaths of both Beomgyu and Iseul. His heart swelled with contentment, knowing that this was the family he had always dreamed of.
