This book is just a creative outlet. I have severe writers block and pent up emotions. This book is for adults with adult shit. Enjoy.
The satin fabric halter dress fell around Celeste's body, her caramel right leg exposed through the slit as she slipped her feet into her pumps. She looked in the mirror, her makeup smoky and her lips a perfect plum shade as her hands smoothed down her sides. Her deep brown eyes admired her reflection as she shifted her weight from one leg to the next. Her large curves were outlined to perfection, the perfect hourglass shape she worked hard to maintain showing itself off as the expensive dress squeezed her body.
You look amazing. As always.
It was gala night at the office. The holiday season was celebration time for corporate executives and their expensive lawyers who assured their success in everything they did. They dressed up and drank their martinis and listened to each other speak about how important corporate America was and its contribution to society. Celeste hated it, but as the trophy wife she was, she put a large smile on her face and cheered on her husband who was an honorary mention each and every time.
She was grateful for it. Anton was wealthy and good and what he did and in return she gets to work whenever she felt like it and showered herself in luxury as a reward. All she had to do was smile and look pretty with her arm wrapped around his. She couldn't ask for anything more.
They made five years together tonight, Celeste preparing herself for the countless well wishes and congratulations they were going to receive. She also braced herself for the questions she dreaded the most.
So when will you have kids?
The thought of having to take care of anyone besides herself made her sick. She worked too hard for her life just to throw it away over a snotty nosed brat that she knew she'd never grow to love. She'd rather have none at all than to resent its entire existence, but she couldn't tell anyone that.
"Baby? You ready?" Anton called from downstairs. Celeste let out a deep breath, perking up her breasts and squeezing her lips together before grinning and walking toward the steps.
"Coming."
Her husband looked as handsome as ever in his black tux that complimented his dark skin. He eyed her lovingly as she took her time walking down the marble steps, each click of her heels echoing through their large home. Anton held out a hand for her, Celeste taking it and giggling as he pulled her to him and kissed her neck.
"Oh stop. You're going to wrinkle your suit."
"So posh of you. Let's go."
The limousine ride was smooth, Celeste staring out of the window as the city passed by her eyes. She's lived out here her entire life, yet its beauty never ceased to amaze her. The lights flashed and flickered, a smile on her face as she watched from what felt like miles away.
Luxury.
Camera lights flashed as the limousine door opened, their security guard taking Celeste's hand and helping her from her seat. She grinned while waving, Anton wrapping an arm around her waist. They took slow strides, taking in the attention and publicity as they walked toward the large doors of the corporate building.
The halls were decorated for the winter season, heels clicking and the smell of luxury perfumes taking over the atmosphere. Celeste smiled, looking up at Anton who simply grinned in return.
"Mr. Abascal! My man! So great to see you." Celeste let go of Anton's arm, watching with a smirk as he greeted his colleague who pulled him into a hug after shaking his hand. His wife stood pretty by his side, the blonde woman simply nodding her head with a smile which Celeste returned.
"Come on, John. Aren't we on a first name basis by now?"
"Humble, you are. With a rank like yours, I'd have the whole world kissing my feet. Come on, you'll sit with us."
"Love the dress." The blonde woman purred.
"Love yours just as much. Celeste." Celeste responded.
"Lisa. Sit with me?"
"Of course."
The table was crowded, but that was expected. Celeste simply played with them hem of her clutch, looking around as Anton continued to speak with John and Lisa who seemed to be highly amused by what came out of his mouth. Celeste knew that it was because of his status. They didn't give a shit about what he had to say.
Only what he made.
"So Celeste, what is it you do? I don't think we've ever met at the last gala." Lisa asked as she reached toward her. Celeste smiled while nodding her head.
"I don't think we have either. I'm a registered nurse."
"Oh, power couple. You must work a ton, huh?"
"Not really. PRN. Most of the time this one just wants me home looking pretty." Celeste chuckled while rubbing Anton's back.
"Good! That's what we deserve. Not everyone gets to be a stay at home mom, especially a rich one. Isn't that right, honey?" Lisa grinned while kissing the side of John's face. Celeste's mood faltered at the mention of children, but kept her grin on her face as she nodded. Before the conversation continued, the lights dimmed, music playing loudly from the large orchestra on the stage causing Celeste to relax.
"Here we go." Anton whispered, kissing the side of her face. She smiled, leaning into him slightly before looking at the stage.

"What a party, huh?! Sixth year in a row you get awarded best attorney in the state." John slurred as he patted Anton on the back. Lisa just grinned, Celeste chuckling as she gripped Anton's hand. The valet area was packed with drunken colleagues and their wives. Everyone gravitated toward Anton, congratulating him and cracking jokes as Celeste waited patiently behind him to go home.
"The man of the night, huh?" The voice perked Celeste's ears, the slight Haitian accent laced with velvet causing her heart to crawl to her throat. She looked up but couldn't get a view of the face, her body flustered from the voice that sounded so familiar.
"As always. I'll see you all Monday morning, and if not, very soon. I believe we all have a few meetings together about our firms collaborating."
"It's going to be big, Anton! Very big!" John yelled as he walked off. A tall figure walked with him, their shoulders straight with their back turned toward Celeste. She stared for a second before looking up at Anton who tugged on her dress gently.
"You ready?" He asked. She simply nodded, her eyes glancing at the tall figure once more before getting into the limousine that pulled up in front of them.
