"Come have a drink. I'm glad you came." Robin yelled over the music. It was loud in the large condo, warm bodies dancing to music and chatting amongst themselves. It was the first party Celeste had been to in a very long time, Robin's hand warm as it wrapped around hers and pulled her through the crowd."Thanks for inviting me. These people seem a lot older than I am. Are you sure it's okay I'm here?"
"Definitely. Besides..you've got me to protect you, bumble bee." Robin assured as she wrapped an arm around Celeste's shoulders after handing her a drink. Celeste took a sip, the strong liquid burning as it made its way down her throat.
"Strong." Celeste coughed causing Robin to grin.
"There's more where that came from. Come on, let me introduce you to some people."

Celeste felt nauseous as she walked into the lounge with Anton. The music was loud but low enough for people to hear their conversations. She looked around, people eating and enjoying themselves with their colleagues and friends. Anton pulled Celeste toward a VIP booth, the table surrounded with his friends and colleagues including Robin who stared at Celeste's thighs the moment she walked up to the booth.
"You made it! Please, take a seat! I told you guys to wait to order!" Sascha exclaimed. Everyone erupted in laughter except for Robin who just continued to stare as she sipped her martini. Celeste swallowed hard, waving kindly at everyone and kissing cheeks of the wives who sat next to their husbands and partners. That's when Celeste noticed the woman who sat next to Robin, her heart sinking from her chest as she looked between the two with a small smile.
"Robin."
"Celeste. This is Asia." Asia was pretty, her skin an olive color and her hair in waves as it swam down her body. Her bangs completed the look, her makeup dark and alluring which matched her outfit. She stood, shaking hands with Celeste before sitting back down and scooting over to make space for Celeste and Anton. Celeste's thigh brushed against Robin's as she sat down, both of them tensing.
"She's so pretty. You're so pretty." Asia complimented causing Celeste to smile. She didn't say anything in return and it didn't go unnoticed, Robin lifting a brow as she sipped her drink once more.
Jealous?
"What's good here?" Celeste asked Anton as she kissed the side of his face. He paid her no mind, laughing and talking to his colleagues which dampened her mood. She grabbed his hand, squeezing it under the table causing him to squeeze hers in return.
"You okay?" He asked. She nodded, leaning in and leaving a wet kiss on his lips before looking over the menu. She felt eyes burning into the side of her face but she ignored them, biting her lip as she looked over the drink options.
"I see two more have joined the party. What can I get you to drink?"
"Can I get a brandy with ice?" Celeste ordered quickly causing Robin to chuckle. She looked over with a plain look on her face, Robin looking away and taking another sip from her drink. Anton ordered his usual, scotch on the rocks which Celeste expected. She looked over the food menu, her stomach growling slightly.
"I'll take the surf and turf. Can I get a side salad?" Celeste asked the waitress.
"Wow. No burgers and fries?" Robin joked quietly causing Celeste to slap her thigh.
"Shut up."
"Do you guys know each other?" Asia asked. Celeste shook her head while Robin nodded, both of them glancing at each other for a second.
"She works for my husband."
"Ah okay. You didn't tell me that." Asia mustered. Robin shrugged, wrapping an arm around her shoulders causing Celeste to look away. Her drink was placed in front of her, Celeste taking a sip before sitting back against the booth. She wanted nothing more than to be in her bed, feeling as if she was the odd one out. Everyone's attention was on Anton except for Robin's, but she didn't want Robin's attention to be on her.
Celeste pulled out her phone, downing the rest of her drink and feeling it pollute her bloodstream along with the few glasses of wine she had at home. She was buzzed, solving a few crossword puzzles on her phone. She grew bored, standing up and excusing herself from the table and walking to the bathroom.
After using the toilet, Celeste washed her hands and fluffed her hair before taking a few selfies in the mirror. She sighed, reapplying her lipstick and looking in the mirror once more when the bathroom door opened. She looked over and rolled her eyes, looking back in the mirror as Robin leaned against one of the stalls.
"You look amazing tonight."
"Wasn't for you to notice." Celeste responded grimly. Robin chuckled, kicking herself off the stall and walking over so she was standing behind Celeste. Even in heels the woman towered over her, Celeste glaring at her through the mirror as she crossed her arms.
"Don't you have someone to attend to?"
"Why? Does it bother you?" Celeste scoffed at her response, twisting around to face Robin who stared down at her with an amused expression.
"Oh, you wish. I told you this isn't happening. It's been ten years, Robin. Get over yourself."
"I didn't say anything."
"Oh fucking please, okay? You know what you're doing and I'm not here for it. It's obvious that you'll be around more often so let me make myself clear. You-"
"God, you're so sexy when you're mad." Robin whispered while rubbing her bottom lip. Celeste huffed, rolling her eyes and starting to walk out of the bathroom when a hand grabbed hers.
"Let go of me!" Celeste growled as she pulled her hand away. Robin lifted her hands in defense, the smaller woman glaring up at her while Robin just smirked.
"You need to stay away from me."
"Or what?" Robin asked as she took a step forward. Celeste sighed harshly, pinching the bridge of her nose when a hand found her throat and gripped it harshly causing her to gasp.
"Don't you miss it? Huh?" Robin asked huskily, leaning in and leaving a kiss against her jaw. Celeste let out a breath, their noses touching slightly as she tried to pull away, but Robin refused to let go. Instead she leaned in, leaving a sloppy kiss against her lips causing Celeste to gasp and pull away this time with all her strength, leaving a harsh slap across her face before storming out of the bathroom.
