"Unzip me." Celeste breathed, her head tilted slightly. Anton did as he was told, his lips pressed against her neck as his fingers followed the trail that the zipper left. Her dress pooled to her feet, Celeste stepping out of it in just her heels. Anton watched, loosening his tie as Celeste took off her jewelry and placed them down in her jewelry box.
"Yes?" She asked teasingly. Anton smirked, biting his lip as he leaned against the bed. She stared back, taking off her earrings before pulling her hair out of its pin, it falling down her shoulders in waves. She unhooked her bra, her large breasts falling in place as she tossed her bra onto the bed before kicking off her heels.
"It's still our anniversary."
"And? What is it you want, huh?" Celeste asked quietly. Anton just licked his lips, the bell ringing causing him to groan and adjust his bulge while Celeste snickered while grabbing her robe and slipping it on. Tying the draw string, she stood by the door as she heard voices, the same voice that peaked her interest growing louder causing her to sigh.
"...And you bought wine! Wow, absolutely." Anton exclaimed as Celeste stood at the top of the steps. Footsteps descended from the doorway toward the living room, Celeste slipping on her white playboy slippers and walking down the steps.
"Who's here?" Celeste asked, nearly stopping in her tracks as haunting grey eyes found hers. She swallowed hard, mustering up a smile as Anton walked toward her and wrapped an arm around her waist.
"You remember Sascha, my partner? And this is Robin. She works for G & G downtown. We're partnering with them after the new year."
Celeste simply smiled, unable to speak as she shook Sascha's hand before looking at Robin who stared back. The room suddenly felt stuffy. Tense. Celeste extended a hand, Robin staring down at her as she took her hand and shook it gently, giving it a squeeze.
"I bought wine. Join us." Her voice was the deep, velvety voice that had caught Celeste's attention in the parking lot earlier that evening. The Haitian accent was barely there, but it was noticeable enough. Celeste simply nodded, their hands still entwined causing her to pull it away quickly.
"I'll..I'll get cups." Celeste muttered before scurrying to the kitchen. She let out a shaky breath, opening and closing cabinets before placing a shaky hand on her forehead. A hand touched her shoulder from behind and she jumped, turning around to see Anton staring at her with concern.
"You okay?"
"Yes, fine. Just a little pent up from before." Celeste tried to stabilize her voice, clearing her throat causing Anton to smirk before leaning down and kissing her forehead.
"We have all night. I forgot I told Sascha we could have a night cap. He's persistent."
"No worries. Help me grab the cups, please?"
____
Please stop staring. Please. You shouldn't be here. You should not..be here..
Celeste downed her third cup of wine, her fingers rubbing against her throat and her legs crossed. Her eyes glanced over at Robin who simply stared back as she sipped her wine. The androgynous woman knew what she was doing as she watched Celeste nearly jump out of her skin.
Do you remember me, Cherie?
"Can I use your restroom?" Robin asked as she stood. Celeste cleared her throat, Anton simply nodding as he continued to chat with Sascha. They were in their own world, Celeste feeling suffocated as she stood to show Robin where the restroom was.
She didn't say a word as she brushed passed the tall woman, Robin smirking with an arched brow as she followed her up the marble steps that spiraled. Down the long hallway they went, Robin inches away from Celeste as she walked her to the guest bathroom.
"Thank you, bumble bee."
"Do not..call me that." Celeste hissed while pushing the door open. Robin chuckled darkly, brushing against Celeste as she slid into the bathroom, both of them staring at each other, Celeste's eyes full of fire.
"Good to see you too."
"What are you doing here?" She hissed lowly.
"Didn't he tell you? I'm a colleague. I'm not here for you."
"Oh stop it! I told you I never wanted to see you again!" Celeste growled lowly. Robin chuckled, unbuttoning her suit jacket before leaning against the door. After all these years she was still just as beautiful, her skin glossy and dark with a red undertone. Her jaw was sharp and chiseled, her cheekbones hollow and narrow. Her eyes were cat like, nearly almond shaped with gray irises that were nearly black as she stared down at Celeste with passion that never went away even with time.
"It's been ten years. You think I came looking for you? I obeyed your wish in that hospital room. I left you alone for good. Seems you've done well since." Robin responded back. Celeste huffed, running a hand down her face causing Robin to chuckle while unbuckling her belt.
"If you'll excuse me-"
"You're excused." Celeste spat before shutting the door and letting out a shaky breath. Her heart was pounding in her chest, memories of her old lover flooding her brain. She wasn't sure how she felt, walking to the bedroom and nearly slamming the door shut yet doing the opposite. She was flustered, Celeste flopping down on her king sized bed and staring up at the high ceiling.
This has to be a test. This has to be a test. I'm going to pass. I'm going to pass.
Celeste stayed in the bedroom for the rest of the night. She scribbled in her journal, trying everything in her power to drown out the thoughts and memories that haunted her. She jotted down every emotion she felt, shutting the journal closed as the doorknob to the bedroom rattled, the door flying open.
"Baaaaaby-"
"Ugh. You're drunk." Celeste muttered as Anton slammed himself down onto the bed. She was aggravated, wanting nothing to do with him as she locked her journal and stuffed it into the bedside drawer.
"Come on, don't be like that. Come on, baby.." Anton slurred as he kissed her bare legs and thighs. She sighed, pushing him off and shutting off the lamp next to her bed. She knew it wasn't his fault that she was frustrated, but she couldn't bring herself to calm down as she slipped under the duvet and smashed her face into the pillow.
"Goodnight Anton." He responded with a loud snore, Celeste sighing and rolling her eyes as the tears welled in her eyes.
Lord please make her disappear. I can't have her ruin my life again.
