As Lucas and Gabriel work together on the project, Gabriel begins to show a strange closeness. He makes jokes and teases that Lucas doesn't know how to interpret. Is Gabriel just being friendly, or is there something more? During an afternoon of studying at Gabriel's house, Lucas notices small gestures - touches on the shoulder, lingering glances - that leave him confused. Gabriel is popular, confident, and seems to have the perfect life. Lucas, on the other hand, feels like he's always trapped in his own world.
Back at school, Lucas begins to notice that other people are noticing his growing friendship with Gabriel, especially Felipe, a friend of Marina's. He begins to ask uncomfortable questions, planting doubts in Lucas's mind. Could Felipe know something that Lucas hasn't even admitted to himself?
At the end of the chapter, Marina confronts Lucas once again. This time, she makes a revelation: she's in love with Gabriel.
