Part 20: Rising Tides
The following morning, the reality of the previous night’s events began to sink in as YN, Alexia, and Lila regrouped at YN's apartment. They sat around the kitchen table, each of them nursing a cup of coffee while they processed the near escape.
“We can’t just sit here,” YN said, breaking the silence. “We need to take action. The investor is not going to stop until he gets what he wants.”
“Agreed,” Alexia replied, her brow furrowed with concern. “But we need a plan. We can’t expose ourselves to more danger without being strategic.”
Lila shifted nervously in her seat. “I can help gather more information about the investor’s connections. I still have contacts from my time working for him.”
“Then let’s split up our efforts,” YN suggested, her mind racing. “Lila, you focus on gathering intel. Alexia and I will work on getting a meeting with the palace’s legal team to discuss our options and how to protect our initiative.”
The three of them spent the day strategizing, their energy fueled by a renewed sense of purpose. After hours of brainstorming, they came up with a plan to confront the investor and his tactics head-on.
