The soft hum of music played in the background as Lia sat in front of her mirror, carefully curling a strand of blonde hair. The room was filled with the buzz of excitement as Wanda and Natasha fluttered around, finishing up their own preparations for the party. "I can't believe we're pre-gaming this hard for a fancy Avengers event," Wanda giggled, her fingers expertly blending eyeshadow while Natasha, already mostly ready, rummaged through her bag. "Oh, it's not just any pre-game," Natasha smirked, pulling out a small silver flask. "This is the good stuff—straight from Thor's stash." Wanda's eyes widened as she glanced at the flask. "Wait, that's Asgardian liquor?"Natasha gave a sly nod, uncapping the flask and pouring a bit into the two of their glasses. "The kind of stuff that could actually get a god tipsy. Let's just say, it'll make this night a whole lot more fun for you both." Lia, already sipping from her own glass, raised an eyebrow as Natasha handed her another pour. "So... am I going to regret this?" Wanda laughed, taking a sip and immediately giggling. "Only if you stop after one drink. Come on, Lia, you've survived combat—you can handle a little Asgardian buzz." Lia chuckled, taking a sip of the potent liquor. The warmth spread quickly through her, relaxing the nervous excitement that had been building in her stomach all day.
As they continued getting ready, the conversation drifted into the usual girlish chatter—clothes, makeup, hair. But then Natasha, ever the sly one, cast a mischievous glance at Lia through the mirror. "So," Natasha started casually, fixing a curl in her hair. "You've been here for what... over a week? Do you have your eye on anyone yet?" Lia's heart skipped a beat, her mind immediately flashing to Bucky. His blue eyes, the way they seemed to linger on her just a moment too long. The warmth that flooded her chest whenever they shared those stolen glances. But she forced a casual smile, playing it off. "No... not yet." Wanda, who could clearly read her mind, raised an eyebrow. "Mmhmm. Sure." Natasha smirked knowingly. "Really? Because I see the way you and Bucky look at each other."
Lia felt her cheeks heat up, betraying her cool exterior. "I don't know what you're talking about." "Oh, please," Wanda teased, leaning in as she carefully applied lipstick. "We all see it. Those stolen glances? The way he watches you like you're the only person in the room?" Lia took a deep breath, trying to suppress her blush. "Well, even if I did... like him," she admitted, her voice dropping slightly, "I'm not sure he feels the same." Natasha laughed softly. "Oh, trust me, he does. You'd be surprised how obvious he is." Lia rolled her eyes, but she couldn't stop the smile tugging at her lips. "Can we please change the subject?"
With that, they finished their makeup and hair, laughter filling the room as the Asgardian liquor loosened them up. Wanda twirled in her navy-blue gown, the fabric shimmering as she admired herself in the mirror. "What do you think?" she asked, turning to the others. "Absolutely stunning," Lia said, nodding approvingly. Natasha smoothed her hands down her form-fitting red dress, her lips curving into a smirk. "Not bad, Maximoff. But red still wins." Lia, now in her sleek black gown, glanced at her reflection, smoothing the fabric over her hips. The dress hugged her perfectly, giving her a confident edge she didn't often feel. "Alright," she said with a playful grin. "Let's go turn some heads."

The three of them left the room, striding down the hall toward the party. As they approached the grand entrance, they could hear the hum of voices, the clink of glasses, and the low murmur of music. Natasha and Wanda led the way, their presence commanding as they entered the room, all eyes falling on them.
From across the room, the guys stood at the bar, chatting quietly amongst themselves. Steve nudged Bucky as he saw Natasha and Wanda. "There they are." "They look amazing," Sam commented, taking a sip of his drink. Bucky nodded, his eyes scanning the crowd until they landed on Lia. She walked in behind Natasha and Wanda, her black dress shimmering under the soft lights, her blonde hair cascading down her shoulders like gold. His breath hitched slightly, and he couldn't take his eyes off her. Sam grinned mischievously, noticing Bucky's stare. "Man, you're practically drooling." Bucky shot him a glare. "Shut up, Wilson." But Sam wasn't done teasing. "Just saying. She cleans up nice. Real nice." Steve chuckled, clapping Bucky on the shoulder. "You should tell her that."
Before Bucky could retort, the girls made their way over to the bar. Natasha slid seamlessly into Steve's side, planting a kiss on his cheek, while Wanda beamed at Vision, who was already making his way over to her. Sam, still on his mission to annoy Bucky, turned to Lia with a charming smile. "Lia, you look absolutely stunning. Care for a dance?" Lia grinned, playing along with his banter. "Maybe later, Sammy. I need a drink first." Sam gave her a wink. "Fair enough. Just don't leave me hanging too long."
As Natasha and Steve moved to the dance floor, followed shortly by Wanda and Vision, the bar felt a little quieter. Lia turned her attention to Bucky, who was watching her intently. "You look..." Bucky hesitated for a moment, his voice soft but sincere, "absolutely beautiful." Lia's heart fluttered. The Asgardian liquor had already loosened her nerves, and the compliment made her smile grow wider. "Thanks, Buck. You're not looking too bad yourself."
He smiled, his eyes lingering on her as they leaned against the bar together. There was something about the moment—how the noise of the party seemed to fade in the background, how it felt like it was just the two of them standing there. "You know," he said after a pause, "I didn't think this party would be my thing. But I'm glad I came." "Me too," Lia admitted, her voice softening. "Though, I wasn't expecting all this attention."
Before Bucky could respond, the music cut out, and a spotlight swung toward the stage. Tony Stark, a drink in hand, was up there, clearly already a little tipsy. "Ladies and gentlemen!" Tony's voice boomed, slurring just slightly. "I want to introduce you all to the newest Avenger! The one, the only... Cosmic Witch!" The spotlight swung toward Lia at the bar, illuminating her in a brilliant glow. She blushed under the attention, giving a small, shy wave as the crowd applauded. Pepper quickly made her way onto the stage, gently pulling Tony off before he could continue his drunken rambling. "Okay, okay, that's enough, Tony. Let's get you some water."
As the attention returned to the party, Lia glanced at Bucky, who was still watching her with that same intense look in his eyes. "You're the Cosmic Witch, huh?" Bucky teased, raising an eyebrow. Lia laughed softly, shaking her head. "Apparently." He studied her for a moment, then held out his hand. "Come on, let's dance." She hesitated for only a second before taking his hand. They moved to the dance floor, the world around them fading as they swayed to the music. In that moment, it felt like there was no one else—just them, moving together in perfect sync, the rest of the room disappearing into the background.
