The sun was setting on the Avengers Compound, and the air buzzed with excitement. Tomorrow, Steve, Bucky, and Lia would leave for Wakanda, but tonight, Tony had insisted on throwing a little party to calm everyone's nerves. "Think of it as a farewell bash," Tony had said with his signature smirk. "A little fun before the trip." Sam had cheered, throwing his arm around Tony's shoulders. "Only if we can play some childish drinking games. Spin the bottle, truth or dare, you know-stuff that keeps things interesting."
Everyone had laughed and agreed, the promise of a carefree night settling in the air. Now, in Natasha's room, the girls were getting ready. Natasha, Wanda, and Lia were sipping pre-drinks while putting the finishing touches on their makeup, the room full of chatter and laughter. "Tonight is going to be epic," Natasha said, swiping on her red lipstick. "I can feel it." Wanda grinned as she applied her eyeliner. "And we've got to make sure we look good enough to hit the city if we decide to go clubbing." Lia smiled as she brushed a curl of her blonde hair behind her ear. "No one's ready for this."
Natasha winked at her. "Especially Bucky."
Lia blushed at the mention of his name. "Stop," she muttered, though the thought of seeing him tonight made her heart race.Once they were all ready, the trio took a step back to admire themselves in the mirror. They looked stunning-effortlessly gorgeous but not too fancy. Just enough to turn heads. There was a knock on the door, and Natasha swung it open to reveal Steve, his eyes lighting up as they landed on her. "Wow," he said, pulling her into his arms and kissing her deeply. "You look amazing." Natasha smiled against his lips. "Glad you think so." Steve turned to Lia next, his smile softening. "Bucky's downstairs, waiting for you," he said, his voice holding a hint of something more. Lia's face flushed instantly. "Oh... thanks," she murmured, grabbing her clutch.

The four of them made their way downstairs, the sounds of music and laughter growing louder as they approached the party. When they entered the room, Tony was mixing drinks at the bar while Sam was chatting with Bucky. The moment Bucky saw Lia, his drink slipped in his hand, nearly spilling. Lia noticed the way his eyes widened as they met hers, the way his jaw seemed to drop slightly. He looked good tonight-better than usual, even. He had on a tight black shirt that showed off his muscles and a look that was equal parts smoldering and flustered. Wanda spotted Vision across the room and immediately rushed over to him, throwing her arms around his neck and planting a kiss on his cheek.
Lia turned back to find Sam grinning at her. "Damn, girl," Sam said, raising his drink. "You look-wow." She laughed, rolling her eyes. "Thanks, Sam." Sam, in typical Sam fashion, leaned closer to Bucky, elbowing him playfully. "Bucky, you seeing this? Lia's out here breaking hearts tonight." Bucky shot Sam a look that could kill. "Knock it off, Sam." Lia giggled, brushing Sam off. "Okay, okay. Stop trying to annoy him." Sam grinned mischievously. "Me? Annoy him? Never." He winked before wandering off to grab another drink, leaving Lia and Bucky alone.
The playful banter between them felt easy, natural. For the first time in what felt like weeks, there wasn't the weight of what had happened between them hanging over their heads. For tonight, at least, things felt normal again. Across the room, a slightly tipsy Sam called out, "Alright, people! Let's play some games. How about a little truth or dare to start?" There were cheers all around as everyone began to gather in a circle. Lia exchanged a glance with Bucky, both of them laughing at Sam's enthusiasm before sitting down with the others. The game started off light-some harmless dares, a few funny truths being revealed. Steve had to do a terrible impression of Tony, Wanda dared Vision to dance, and Tony had to admit that he still had a collection of Iron Man action figures. When it was Natasha's turn, her gaze landed squarely on Lia. "Alright, Lia," she said with a sly smile. "Dare or dare?"
Lia arched an eyebrow. "That's not a fair choice coming from you," she said, crossing her arms. "You'll twist it no matter what I pick." The group chuckled in agreement, and Natasha shrugged, unbothered. "Dare." Lia sighed. "Fine. Dare."
Natasha's eyes gleamed with mischief. "I dare you to spend seven minutes in heaven.. with Bucky."The group erupted into cheers and "ooohs," and Lia's face turned crimson. She glanced at Bucky, who seemed equally taken aback, though the corners of his mouth quirked up in amusement.
"That's not fair!" Sam slurred, his cheeks flushed from the drinks. "I wanna go with Lia!" He winked at her, but before he could say anything else, Bucky smacked him on the arm, hard enough to shut him up. Lia couldn't help but laugh. "Alright, fine. Seven minutes. Let's go," she said, standing up and grabbing Bucky by the hand. Bucky stood, his expression half-amused, half-nervous. He let Lia lead him to a nearby room, where they closed the door behind them.Once inside, Bucky rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "We don't have to do anything, you know. We can just talk and tell them we-"
"Where's the fun in that?" Lia interrupted, her voice teasing as she stepped closer to him. There was a beat of silence as they stood there, studying each other. Lia's heart raced, and she could see the same tension mirrored in Bucky's eyes. Before either of them could think twice, Bucky closed the distance between them, his hands cupping her face as he kissed her deeply, passionately. Lia melted into him, her arms winding around his neck as she kissed him back with just as much intensity. The world seemed to blur, nothing but the feel of Bucky's lips on hers, the heat between them.
Minutes passed, but it felt like mere seconds before they broke apart, both of them breathless, staring at each other with wide eyes. There was a sudden banging on the door, and Sam's voice called out, "Time's up, lovebirds!" Lia laughed, her face flushed, as she stepped back from Bucky, her heart still pounding. Bucky smirked, running a thumb over her bottom lip before they opened the door and stepped back into the room. Natasha and Wanda were both smirking knowingly, while Sam groaned, "Not fair!" before taking another swig of his drink.Lia caught Natasha's eye and shook her head, though she couldn't hide the smile tugging at her lips. Whatever was happening between her and Bucky, it was undeniable. And maybe, just maybe, she was ready to see where it went.
