All Hope Is Gone

Chapter 6 : The Truth.

"Just earlier on,I could've sworn I had heard the call of the Azure Flames;a power bestowed to none but me and my kin,and now I overhear that these..." Lucifer began as he eyed up the fellow Priests and spat. "Priests...now know that the boy you house is my son?!" Lucifer boomed. "You told me you would keep his power concealed. You told me that he would be safe." his voice cracked.

"I know...I broke that promise." admitted Kirin. "I-I'm sorry..." he said,bowing his head.
"Sorry?" scoffed Lucifer,as his eyes blazed red. "You will be." The other creatures that kneeled behind Lucifer slowly raised their heads. "Kill the others." he commanded. His spawn charged at the High Priests. The Priests put up a good fight;but ultimately, the Spawn ignited their rage and sent them to Hell. Lucifer snarled and laughed maniacly.
"Now it's just you and me;yet again,Kirin." his voice alone was enough to cause the building to quake. He drew his sword from its sheath,unveiling its bright,shining silver contrasting against it's ebony-black hilt. Sparks struck the blade continuously;and as Lucifer's grip upon it tightened,it burst into Azure Flames. Kirin's staff transformed. It extended to reveal a power source,an Azure Crystal. Its head shone blue and sharp as he pointed it at Lucifer whilst carefully laying Vergil down. "I gave him to you. I TRUSTED you!" shouted Lucifer. "And now my son is in grave danger. I've heard the stories you've told your Priests about me. The Monster that parents tell their children about before they go to bed,to keep them in line. But the real monster,is you." he hissed. A tear festered in Kirin's eyes. Lucifer lunged at him,but Kirin simply jumped out of the way. The wall behind him took the sheer force of the attack,it fell and was turned to ash by the Azure Flames. Kirin now charged at Lucifer,but he blocked it with his sword and then used it to smash Kirin to the ground. Lucifer raised his sword high in the air,aiming to stab it through Kirin's chest.

Both Kirin and Lucifer were blown away. Vergil had awoken,bathed in Azure Flames;but this time,he had sprouted his spiked,black wings from his back.

Vergil stared deeply into the eyes of Kirin.
"I want answers," he said,wiping away his tears. "You owe me at least that." Rose and Shade had taken iniative and had hidden away,but they could still see and hear everything clearly.
"You were born in a small village,very far away from here. That village was deemed the VIllage Of The Damned by the people amongst the ranks of the Priest Regiment,as it housed a family in which the blood of The Devil;Lucifer,coursed through their veins. Lucifer impregnated your mother." Kirin thought for a bit. "...Twice. There was another;your brother,but he died protecting you,on the night of the..."Cleansing."" Vergil's face twisted as tears began to fall from his damp eyes.
"TELL HIM!" boomed Lucifer,visibly enraged. "TELL HIM THE TRUTH! LOOK IN TO HIS EYES,AND TELL HIM WHO'S IDEA THIS..."CLEANSING" WAS!" Kirin took a big gulp and bowed his head,staying silent.
"TELL ME!" cried Vergil;in a very similar characteristic to Lucifer,as he seemed to be losing control over his flames.
"It was me!" shouted Kirin,sobbingly. "It was me..." Vergil's eyes blazed with betrayal and sheer fury. "W-We slaughtered an entire village,trying to find your family. By the time I made it to your house,my men had already murdered your mother,and forced your brother to give up his life to save you. Lucifer stood between me and you,and we agreed on a pact,that I'd raise and take care of you,it was the least I could do. I was supposed to keep you safe!" he explained,tears flowing down his face. Lucifer knocked Kirin's staff out of the way;catching him off guard,and held him by his neck against the wall. "You failed. You murdered my love,sacrificed my first-born and you couldn't even do such a simple task in forgiveness for the crimes you commited against me. What you have done to me and to my family is unforgiveable." Lucifer raised his sword,and plunged it straight through the heart of Kirin. "I;Lucifer,God of The Underworld,banish you from the dying world,dooming you to an afterlife of pure purgatory. The Endless Void. Mercy be upon your soul...brother." snarled Lucifer,as Kirin closed his eyes for the last time,and faded away.
