Chapter 7: Together At Last

Vergil glared at Lucifer,his eyes flowing with tears,still in quite a lot of shock. He didn't know what to think. He didn't know what to believe. All his life he had thought that Kirin was his real father,and that he had loved him. But he was just repaying his debts to his actual father,Lucifer. He kept saying that over and over again in his head,until he finally came to terms with what he was saying. Black Wings? Azure Flames? Lucifer?,he thought.
"I-I'm the son of Satan..." uttered Vergil.
"So,that's what they call me these days,huh? Many a name I've had since the birth of Time and Space itself,but Satan is a first." Lucifer laughed,before putting back on a serious face,as he knelt infront of his son. "Now,I do not know what sort of stories you have heard about me;but despite my physical appearance,I am no Monster." he said,bowing.
"So...you're my real father?" questioned Vergil,rather confused. Lucifer smiled and nodded. "D-Does that mean,we're finally together,at last?"
"Eh...Not exactly." began Lucifer. Vergil frowned. "You see,the portal between this world and my world;hell,as you may have heard it been called before,can only remain open for so long!" he explained,placing a hand on Vergil's shoulder. "Oh," Vergil said dissapointedly,before frowning. "Okay."
Lucifer stood up striaght;almost boasting his height in demon form,as his wings retracted,looking eerily more human. "Come now,my son. Don't be sad. Perhaps one day,when you are older and when you are stronger,you can come with me,and we will rule the Harrows of Gehenna as Father and Son!" shouted Lucifer,excitedly. Vergil's face quickly turned from a frown to a smile,truly feeling for the first time,a connection between father and son. A portal appeared behind them all of a sudden,and deafening-loud screeches and explosions could be heard from inside,that filled the church. Vergil gazed through the portal in fear and dismay;as he did,all his fears,all of his nightmares suddenly came to life. He felt faint,he felt physically sick,he felt dizzy. He found it increasingly hard to stand. 

Lucifer stood infront of the portal and laughed aloud. "Aye;perhaps,it would not be a good idea to stare into the realm of Gehenna at such a young and inexperienced age,hm?" He chuckled boomingly,as he turned to the portal. "I must go. My peo-My...creatures,need me." He placed the top of his hand below Vergil's chin and tilted it upwards so they made eye contact. "This is not goodbye forever,this is only goodbye for now. I will return for you,I swear." Lucifer said,as his wings grew and what was left of his human appearance was now diminshed,and replaced with a hellish beast. Truly a fitting form,for the King of Gehenna. Lucifer jumped through the portal,and the Gates of Gehenna soon closed behind him. Vergil just stood there,staring into the empty space where the portal once was,confused but undeniably excited nonetheless.
"Son of Satan,huh?" said an uncomfortably familar voice. Vergil slowly turned around in trepidation,but to his delight he was met with the sight of his two closest friends,Rose and Shade.
"Y-You;uh,you saw all of that?" Vergil queried,looking physically exhausted. 
"Aye!" said Shade,with a laugh. "What were you expecting,us to abandon you? You're the Son of Satan! That's so METAL!"
Vergil spat out,laughing heavily,causing him to have a coughing fit and nearly be physically sick. Rose slammed her hand on his back constantly "I'm-not-choking-you-mug-I'm-coughing" Vergil just about said inbetween coughs. He finally reasserted himself and cleared his throat. "Fuck." said Vergil.
"Hm?" questioned Shade.
"I just realised,I don't have a place to live anymore." Vergil laughed,looking up and around at the dilapidated remains of the Church.  
"Then get your sorry ass out of this Bible-humping ass place. You're gonna live with me." said Shade,smiling invitingly.
