-Carter's Point of View-
I stood still, watching everything go in slow motion and the sight of Clara's trembling body was never a settling sight to see.
My mind tried to process the events that had just taken place over the last 15 minutes
1.) Jordan came over. (Which wouldn't have been a problem if A. Riley, Connor and Toby weren't here and B. Jordan wasn't wheeled over drunk.)
2.) Jordan barged in
3.) Jordan attacked Clara
4.) I was on Jordan's back trying to pull him off of Clara
5.) There was a sharp pain on my temple and lip
6.) I realized I was thrown into the coffee table
7.) I was too dizzy to move so I had to watch my best friend get beat
8.) I witnessed Connor take Jordan out with one punch to the face
I touched my bloody head and winced at the stinging sensation that withered from the tips of my fingers, shakingly standing on my wobbly feet I watched Connor hovering over Clara beside me.
If there's anything I hate more than annoying people, it's not being able to help the ones I love, not being able to go on my own.
And watching Clara basically die before my eyes would never leave me. Some things are always better left unseen.
If there is one thing I am certain about it's that these boys already know too much about Clara and I.
After Clara gained consciousness again Riley rushed over to me.
"Oh my God!" He gasped, "Are you okay?" he cupped my face with his hand and turned my head so he could get a look at the side of my head.
"Yeah.." I shook him off, more concerned with Clara than myself.
Glancing over at her, she was now starting to stand and walk to the couch with Connor's support.
Her face was swelling and I could see the pain in her eyes.
"There are ice packs in the freezer.." I grunted to Connor, who quickly grabbed them and placed them all over Clara. She shook with shock from the temperature difference and Riley grabbed one of the blankets at the ends of the couch and wrapped it around her. Connor pulled her into his arms. She didn't react, she just remained almost numb-like, as if she were emotionless. Not even crying.
A low moan from behind me changed my focus and I turned to look at Jordan who was lying on the floor, holding his rib cage, groaning in pain.
Before I knew it adrenaline was taking over my actions, and I was charging at Jordan.
I'm not sure what happened next really. All I know is I watched Jordan being taken away by police and Clara was screaming her lungs out at the paramedics who were forcing her onto an ambulance to the hospital. The only thing left in that Apartment was a silent Riley, Connor, Toby and I. And in that moment I knew Clara and I would never be able to have any type of friendships with these guys. They have seen way too much.
