Brief Review: I am not even exaggerating but I was totally blown away with the appearance of the unexpected plot twist.
However I do think the ending can be perceived in several ways. It could be imagined as a fantasy tale or something else.
For me, it was beyond fantasy. This was my first time reading a story where an incubus is an important character and hence, I was a bit iffy since I had no idea how you would play with the concept of this male demon believed to have sexual intercourse with a sleeping woman. And to say I was afraid there would be glorification of non-consensual sex, is also true. Well I realised I was overthinking when I dived deeper into the story 😅.
The introduction of the female character being schizophrenic and her possibly imagining the whole intimate scenario with the incubus, likely triggered by her unsuccessful, unrequited love—and the story ending on a note that leaves the readers with a question mark is; this was all totally unexpected and I LOVED every second of it.
Good job!
