### Chapter 1: New Beginnings
The journey began on a warm summer day in Texas. Her father, a rising software engineer, had landed a prestigious job opportunity in Tokyo. The entire family was abuzz with the news, though Maya felt a pang of anxiety. "Japan? Really?" she had exclaimed at dinner, her fork paused mid-air. "What about my friends? My school?"
Her mother, ever the optimist, reassured her, "Maya, this is a chance for all of us! Think of the new experiences, the culture, the food! You'll make new friends in no time."
Her older brother, Darnell, and sister, Amina, shared her mixed feelings. Darnell, with his laid-back attitude, shrugged it off. "It's just a few years. We'll be fine." Amina, the responsible one, began planning a blog to document their adventures, already dreaming of all the Instagram-worthy moments they could capture.
As they packed their lives into boxes, Maya's heart raced with uncertainty. She was leaving behind the only home she had ever known. The hustle and bustle of Texas felt like a comforting blanket compared to the unknown that lay ahead. But the thought of trying sushi and visiting ancient temples sparked a flicker of excitement.
When the day finally arrived, the family boarded a plane, the thrill of takeoff rushing through her. Maya gazed out of the window, watching the land below shrink away. Tokyo awaited, a world of neon lights and new possibilities.
Upon arriving, the city welcomed them with open arms. The towering skyscrapers, the organized chaos but anyway she didn't Meet Kenji yet cuz he had to Leave for a few weeks do To a family member and Maya doesn't even know how Kenji Looks anyway's? Right
A few days Later Maya has been In Japan for 3 days and It was her first Time going outside Will she did go outside but It was only Close To her house anyway she didn't want To get Lost and she also saw This Ice cream place Next To her house so she Thought" Mmm Ice cream and It's Next To My house To I bet The Ice cream Is good I she go try some Let Me go ask My Dad for some Money. She runs Inside and stopped In front her parents room and Took a Deep breath and Knock's The door 4 Times her Mom ask" Who Is It,Mom It's Me" and by Me you Mean Who? Mom It's Maya💢
Mom: Then Why didn't you say That how Many Times do I have To Tell you Maya When I ask Who It Is you Must Always give Me your Name first or do you want Me To open My door for a Demon by accident All because you can't say your Name first? her Mom puts her hands on her chest Looking a bit upset
Maya: Mom I know but It's just No All The Time I can say My Name cuz What If The Demon hear's Me say My Name and-
Mom: oh really That's so Nice but anyway why are you here?
Maya: Mom open The door and you didn't even Let Me finish What I was going To say: I didn't Let you finish cuz you were going To be Talking for a long Time and Maya I just don't have The Time truthfully so What Is It That you want she opens The door Maya Looks a bit hurt but said What was she came for Mom I Need some Money- No: What Why??
Mom: Cuz I don't know What you Think This Is but My Money doesn't grow on trees: I just want some Money To buy Ice cream" Ice cream and we're are you going To find a ice cream place Eh? Mom It has one right Next To our house It's just a Little Walk and I'll be right back so please can you give Me some Money I'll pay you back
Mom: okay fine Maya but I don't want you getting Kidnapped 💢 so please just come right back after getting Ice cream here Take This Money This Is All I have 18$ oh Thanks Mom I'll be right back okay she runs out The door and out The house and run's down To The ice cream place ready for some Ice cream Love
