It was late November when Sayuki's condition worsened. She lay in her hospital bed, looking out the window at the bare branches of the trees. Her body was weak, her heart failing faster than the doctors had predicted. Every breath felt heavier.

One day she received a message from Lay.
-I'm coming, Sayu. I've saved enough.

Her heart fluttered, a mixture of joy and dread. She wanted to see him, more than anything, but part of her feared he wouldn't make it in time.

She didn't tell him how bad things had gotten

Instead she responded
-I'll wait for you.

Lay's flight to Tokyo arrived early in the morning, the soft light of dawn casting a golden glow over the sprawling city below. As he stepped off the plane, he felt an overwhelming mix of excitement and nervousness. His phone buzzed just as he passed through customs. It was Sayuki.

-I'm here. I can't wait to see you. He quickly typed.

He response was immediate.
-I'm waiting Lay. Let's make the most of this time. See you soon!

With a smile, Lay grabbed his luggage and rushed to meet her.
