Nya eventually joined them, flying over them in her Samurai Mech. They stopped in a clearing in the forest surrounding the mountain where Garmadons Monastery sat, hiding their vehicles beneath vines, leaves, and branches.

"The Overlord won't be able to find us here. No robots, no cameras, no problems," Lloyd joked.

Nya grinned, rolling her eyes affectionately, tossing his new GI at him. "Still, if any aerial drones pass overhead, you better wear this. The note Borg wrote said it'll scramble their signal so they can't recognize your face."

Delighted, Lloyd stepped behind a small clump of bushes and changed. When he stepped back out, hands running down the front of the embellished GI, he flashed them all a smug little smile. "Yeah, this is sweet."

[M/n] tensed, head tilting imperceptively, as he focused on the light footsteps of someone's approach. Barely noticeable – someone with little training but training nonetheless – but still there.

Misako stepped out from the trees, having recognized them, "Lloyd?"

"Mom," Lloyd turned, relieved. Over the year he had slowly but surely mended his relationship with his mother, growing one anew with his father.

"What are you all doing here?" Misako asked, hugging her son.

"The Overlord's back and New Ninjago City has fallen under his control. He has . . . He has Sensei Wu," Lloyd stated, pulling back.

"Wu's tough. There's a reason he's lived as long as he has," Misako comforted, squeezing her son's shoulders.

"I know." Lloyd basked in her reassurance for a moment before pulling away completely. "Where's Dad?"

"Yeah, where's Lord Garmadon?" Kai asked, joking.

"He no longer goes by Lord," Misako reminded them. "Here, he is Sensei Garmadon and he won't be back until this evening's lesson."

"Sensei Garmadon? Since when?" Jay asked, nose wrinkling. He most definitely did not remember being told about that.

"I'm glad he's on our side now. With Sensei Wu gone, we could use the help," Zane stated.

"Follow me, but know your weapons are not allowed. Ever since Lloyd saved his father, Garmadon swore an oath to never fight, in hope to make up for his evil past. It's an oath he takes very seriously," Misako explained, smiling slightly at the disbelieving looks passed between the ninja.

"Borg said to protect these with our lives," Kai reminded them, holding up his Techno Blade.

"Yeah, if we let them out of our sight that's as good as giving them back to the Overlord," Jay pointed out, frowning worriedly.

"You guys go. I will stay here and look out for the weapons," Zane said.

"Are you sure, Zane?" [M/n] asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I am the best fit to watch over them. I shall be fine."

"Thanks, Zane," Cole said, reaching over to pat Zane on the back before handing over his Techno Blade.

"Good luck."

"Come find us if there's any trouble," Kai murmured, handing his over.

Lloyd and Misako led the way, but [M/n] hung back for a moment.

"Khêlai will stay with you. If something happens, he can call for me," [M/n] stated, summoning Khêlai. He perched in a nearby tree as a robin as Zane nodded. "Be careful, Zane."

"I shall be."

[M/n] easily caught up to the others, and they made it to the sandstone wall that protected the Monastery within minutes. From outside they could hear the sounds of children shouting in delight as they played some kind of game.
