An Angel and a Demon
Pov Lucy
High above the clouds, in a palace of gold and pure white marble, lived the most majestic creatures—angels. Some of these angels were tasked with watching over the world below as guardian angels, while others had the more challenging role of keeping an eye on the demons who reveled in chaos and mayhem. These angels were called sentries. The demons, on the other hand, were the counterparts of the sentries tasked with spreading chaos and destruction. The hierarchy was clear, with the most powerful angels and demons at the top and the lower-ranked ones, like Lucy and her demon counterpart, Natsu, at the bottom. Lucy and Natsu, despite being on opposite sides, shared a unique bond due to their similar circumstances.
Among the sentries' angels was one named Lucy. She was among the lowest-ranked angels in her class, still adjusting to her new form and powers. Lucy was once a human, unlike her other brothers and sisters. Lucy passed away one day while she was still young. The angels took pity on her when her guardian angel failed to protect her against a demon attack. Her whole family and village were wiped out during the attack. She was allowed to become a guardian or a sentry when reborn as an angel. The transformation was not easy, but she chose to become a sentry for one reason: to prevent people from dying as she did. Her determination to prevent others from suffering as she did was unwavering, a flame that burned bright within her. She wouldn't have wished that on anyone. Her unwavering determination to prevent others from suffering as she did was a testament to her resilience and strength, inspiring those who crossed her path with her unwavering spirit.
Sentries were granted access to go to earth to scout around to see what they could find, which meant they could blend into society. Lucy stood out in the crowd with her long blonde hair in a simple braid that went halfway down her back, her white and blue crop top with sleeves that came down to her wrists, her white skinny jeans, and her pair of white combat boots. She had a silver dagger strapped to her right leg in case of an emergency, a stark contrast to her angelic appearance. This juxtaposition of her gentle, angelic features with the readiness for combat in her attire and equipment was a testament to the complexity of her character, a duality that intrigued those who crossed her path.
As Lucy walked the streets of her old hometown, Magnolia, she thought back to the day she and her parents died. She and her father had been fighting that day. He wanted to wed her off to the wealthiest man in the village, but she wanted no part in it. Sadly, her father wasn't taking no for an answer. It was already decided, and she already signed the agreement. Before she even met the man, everyone was already killed. "Well, now that I think back on it, I guess my dying saved me from marrying someone I never would have loved." As she voiced her thoughts, someone bumped harshly into her shoulder. She looked back to see who it was, but they were already gone, leaving her suddenly feeling that she was being watched.
Pov Natsu
Under the earth's crust, in the fiery pits of hell, stood a black obsidian castle. In this castle lived the world's most terrifying creatures—demons. The demons love to create chaos in the world above, making deals for souls, destroying towns, and, their favorite, killing innocent people. Most of the demons were born, and some were fallen angels.
Natsu was born a demon but also an orphan. No one knows where he came from. He is a low-rank demon, but the king, a fearsome figure with a crown of fire and eyes that burned with malice, took him in. He sat in a conference room beside his father in a black button-up dress shirt with half the buttons undone, black leather skinny jeans, and black combat boots: twin black daggers, one on each side of his waist. 'Sigh. How long is this meeting going to take?' Natsu's mind wandered, his boredom evident in his eyes. He heard chairs moving and looked up to see everyone bowing as his father stood. As he walked past, Natsu stood to follow.
The king sighed loudly as they walked down the hall to the main throne room. "You were zoning out again, son. If you want to take over my kingdom one day, you must start paying attention to the conferences. You are the sole heir to the throne, but if someone dared to challenge you, they have every right to, seeing as you are not a high-ranked demon like me." Natsu puts his hands behind him and lets out a growl. The king stops and looks back at Natsu. "Father, you and I know I'm nowhere near ready for that responsibility. I don't want to be trapped in the castle walls for the rest of my immortal life. I love going to the surface too much." The king lets out a long sigh and continues walking with Natsu close behind him. "Hmm, if you love the surface world so much, why don't I banish you there for a while." And before Natsu could appose, he was teleported out of the castle and into the mortal world, his heart heavy with the desire for freedom.
