"I'm sorry!" Josh cried, wrapping his arms around James.

James stood there, his heart beating faster. He takes a deep breath and rubs Josh's back.

"I didn't mean it. I promise! Please don't leave me." He continued, tears rolling down his face.

James glances back at his room and sees Elijah at the stairs, once he sees James and Josh hugging, a sour expression spreads across his face. He turns around and goes back toward James' room.

"It's okay," James said, his voice was monotone, like he was tired of trying with Josh and he sighed.

"I love you, James," Josh muttered, kissing James softly.

As their lips connected, James didn't kiss him back, feeling dull inside. Josh tightened his grip around James, disconnecting their lips, Josh leaned his head on James' shoulder and interlinked their hands.

"Are we back together?" Josh asked, and James nodded.

James only agreed, thinking things could be different. This is only the beginning, things gradually got worse.

2 Years Later, senior year.

The sun pours into James' room through the blinds, seeping onto his face. The feeling he has grown fond of. He cracks his eyes open, greeted by the bright sunlight, he smiles, sitting up slowly. He drags his body out of bed and toward the bathroom, closing and locking the door behind him. He turned on the shower and closed the curtain to wait for it to warm up as it was a cold morning.
James glances at himself in the mirror and smiles slightly, his lip piercing glistening in the sunlight, which was pouring from the bathroom window. His diamond earrings shine brightly as the sun bounces off of them. The room fills with mist, he smiles and starts undressing when he notices his phone blowing up. He glances at it and has over twenty messages and missed calls from Josh. He unlocks his phone to see a bunch of rude and disrespectful messages, he sighs, locks his phone, and continues to undress.

'I'll respond when I'm finished.' James thought to himself, putting his phone on silent.

James finishes showering and turns off the water, stepping out of the shower, he wraps a towel around his waist and dries off his hands before picking up his phone. He unlocks it and he's greeted with more messages, the most recent being;

"I'm sorry baby, I'll see you at school."

Josh had gotten worse, name-calling and a little abusive and pushy. James rolls his eyes, sets his phone back down, and gets dressed. He exits the bathroom and strolls toward the kitchen.

"Morning, Lyn." James greets.

She hops off the couch and runs toward James.

"So, how's your little relationship?" She questioned curiosity spilling from her voice.

James ignores her for a second, knowing she doesn't support their relationship anymore, he looks at her before deciding to reply.

"It's fine," James answered, hesitantly.

Roselyn looked at him with doubt. She knows James like the back of her hand and knows he's not being truthful.

"Lyn," James mutters and she rolls her eyes, sitting beside their mother at the table.
